APS President @JustinKeener made the following statement on passage of SB1618 in Oklahoma:  "The Oklahoma Senate sent SB1618 to the governor's desk, which will make communities safer by better ensuring that public safety will be a key consideration for bail decisions. This follows work by both chambers whereby Oklahoma will join a growing number of states strengthening their bail laws, while balancing constitutional protections. APS President @JustinKeener made the following statement: "The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed SB1618 to make communities safer by better ensuring public safety risk will be a key consideration for bail decisions. This follows original action to pass the bill by the Senate. We urge the Senate to concur with House amendments and send this to the governor, so that Oklahoma can join a growing number of states placing public safety at the forefront of bail decisions, while balancing constitutional protections. Thank you Senator Gollihare, Representative Harris for leading this effort." - @OKHouseofReps @oksenate

Congrats Mr. Chairman on getting all 12 bills done
Over the past 250 years, we've created the greatest military in the world, made significant medical advances through biomedical research, improved transportation through the Interstate Highway System, & transformed security preparedness across all domains. Today, in passing these full-year funding bills, we recognized that legacy & our obligation to carry it forward. cole.house.gov/media/press-r…

A Sonic Blast sounds pretty good rn, ngl! An arctic blast, not so much. Bigtime snow across the northern half of the state, more sleet and ice to the south. EVERYBODY gets the dangerous cold, though, with wind chills from -10 to -20! ticker.mesonet.org/ #okwx #okmesonet

1/7th of our 35 January tornadoes occurred last Thursday with a preliminary count of 5, and nearly half have come in the last 7 years. The spring severe weather season towers over the rest of the year, however. No secret there! ticker.mesonet.org/ #okwx #okmesonet

This is a big first step towards making our roads safer and using modern technologies to prevent crashes and improve infrastructure on roads across the U.S. Thanks @JohnBoozman @SenAlexPadilla @RepMann and @RepDavids for your leadership!
Roadway safety is strongest when risks are identified before serious incidents occur. My bipartisan bill helps states use proven, data-driven tools to identify risks early, prevent crashes and make smarter investments that save lives. boozman.senate.gov/press-rel…

Happy Statehood Day! 118 years ago today, President Theodore Roosevelt signed a proclamation declaring that Oklahoma was to join the Union as the 46th state. Off the second-floor balcony of The State Capital Publishing Building in Guthrie, a gun was fired as the announcement was made, “Oklahoma is now a state!” Now, we’re working to restore this iconic piece of state history. Go to publishingmuseum.org to get involved.

Do you know why cities need sales taxes? Sales taxes enable our city to pay for personnel, equipment, infrastructure, & other operational costs. In Oklahoma, this is vital revenue as operational costs cannot be funded by property taxes. Vote on Nov. 18! edmondok.gov/SalesTax

"I think keeping the government open for the American people and negotiating in good faith on bills where we are close to getting done and moving it through regular order is the right thing to do. I think provoking a government shut down is the wrong thing to do." - Chairman @TomColeOK04

We have the modern technology to help drive down the 40,000 annual deaths on America’s roads. It’s time we get this in the hands of states. thehill.com/opinion/5293009-…

After working closely with DOGE and the Administration, I am thrilled to announce that common sense has prevailed, as the National Weather Center in Norman, the Social Security Administration Office in Lawton, and the Indian Health Services Office in Oklahoma City will remain operational in Oklahoma. All three of these places provide vital and valuable services to Oklahomans and I am so proud to have advocated for them. As the Representative for Oklahoma’s Fourth District, I will always fight for Oklahomans and my constituents!

Ryan was an amazingly unique Oklahoman who helped give a voice to the voiceless and was a class act. Working with him was an absolute pleasure and he will be missed. While we didn’t agree politically his perspective and knowledge helped make better policy.
Ryan Kiesel was a state rep when I signed up to intern at the Capitol during college. I didn’t know who he was when I was assigned to his office, but working for him changed my life & earned a lifelong friend. He’s gone far too soon & I, for one, am better for having known him.
