Re recent press coverage, at 11.33 gbnews.com/shows/sunday-with… Pam says: I'm still unhappy as the Government sent agents round, to FORCE us all to 'give up our traditional county'. Using only the new name, and later telling everyone that the new county names have always existed.

Why no one mentions this? NO mention of previous counties-or their destruction, totally against public will! NO mention of local gov changes, OR 'admin only'! Just permanent destruction of our beloved counties - from MPs/Lords. Flags no good, what do people think they mean?? Pam

Councils should have nothing to do with counties. They should not pretend to be counties. We need to break this idea in people's minds. There is absolutely ZERO chance of Bristol south of the Avon being split from the rest of it and joined to a 'Somerset council'.

It’s amazing how they kept only one county by name, Yorkshire, and literally invented another, Humberside, but dissolved every other county. And I had the privilege of studying at Humberside Poly.
