A 2022 study identified new risk factors for #PostpartumHypertension, including having had a c-section and a history of smoking cigarettes. This increased risk for was even more apparent in Black women (36%).

This week MA DPH released a sobering study showing maternal morbidity--dangerous complications from pregnancy and birth-- have DOUBLED in the last 10 years. And Black birthing people are 2.3x more likely to experience these complications. buff.ly/44GRECf
