As the United Nations Global Day of Parents is observed on 1 June, the Universal Peace Federation reflects on the essential role families play in building peaceful and resilient societies. At the conclusion of UPF’s “100-Day Campaign: Serving Community,” experiences from interfaith dialogue, youth service, family gatherings, education initiatives and community partnerships across the world all point back to one foundational truth: peace first becomes visible in the home. Parents and caregivers shape trust, responsibility, compassion and service long before these values appear in public life. Through countless unseen acts of care, families become the first school of peace. UPF reaffirms the vision advanced by Dr. Hak Ja Han and late Dr. Sun Myung Moon that humanity is One Family under God, and encourages continued cooperation among families, educators, faith communities, civic leaders and communities of goodwill. #UniversalPeaceFederation #GlobalDayOfParents #FamilyAndPeace #ServingCommunity #HumanDignity #AmbassadorsForPeace

Families are the first school of peace. It is in the home that children first learn dignity, responsibility, compassion, and care for others. The true legacy of war is not only written in history—it is carried in human lives, especially within families. The observance of 8 and 9 May calls us not only to remember, but to reconcile. It challenges us to ensure that memory does not become a source of division, but a foundation for responsibility and renewal. Peace among nations cannot be separated from peace within families. It is in the home that future generations learn dignity, compassion, and the courage to build a more humane world. In this spirit, remembrance becomes not an end, but a beginning. #Peacebuilding #Reconciliation #FamilyValues #GlobalLeadership #UPF

Hak Ja Han, co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation, has been nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize in the category of Peace and Fraternity between Nations. Her decades of work in interreligious dialogue, humanitarian cooperation, and global peace initiatives have contributed to building bridges across cultures, ideologies, and nations. From engagements across the Korean Peninsula to global summits and grassroots initiatives, her leadership reflects a long-term commitment to peace, reconciliation, and human dignity. While a nomination does not determine the final outcome, it highlights the enduring importance of dialogue, cooperation, and moral leadership in addressing today’s global challenges. #UniversalPeaceFederation #NobelPeacePrize #Peacebuilding #InterfaithDialogue #SDG16 #GlobalCooperation

The measure of leadership is not symbolic representation, but moral adequacy for the moment. As the United Nations moves toward selecting its next Secretary-General, the deeper need is clear: a leader of inner freedom, moral seriousness, and independence—capable of rising above polarization while speaking to the conscience of humanity. In a fractured age, credibility will not come from louder words, but from deeper character. #UnitedNations #EthicalLeadership #Peace #GlobalGovernance #HumanDignity

The next UN Secretary-General must be more than a manager. In a fractured world, the role demands moral courage, inner depth, and the ability to serve the whole human family. Leadership is not symbolic—it is responsibility. #UnitedNations #Leadership #Peace
