As the United Nations Global Day of Parents is observed on 1 June, the Universal Peace Federation reflects on the essential role families play in building peaceful and resilient societies.
At the conclusion of UPF’s “100-Day Campaign: Serving Community,” experiences from interfaith dialogue, youth service, family gatherings, education initiatives and community partnerships across the world all point back to one foundational truth: peace first becomes visible in the home.
Parents and caregivers shape trust, responsibility, compassion and service long before these values appear in public life. Through countless unseen acts of care, families become the first school of peace.
UPF reaffirms the vision advanced by Dr. Hak Ja Han and late Dr. Sun Myung Moon that humanity is One Family under God, and encourages continued cooperation among families, educators, faith communities, civic leaders and communities of goodwill.
