Glad to join #ConferenceonDisarmament @ODA_Geneva It is time for the idealists to join with the realists, to avoid a three-way nuclear arms race unlike anything experienced during the Cold War. Russia and China must be held to account today, not tomorrow. youtube.com/watch?v=D6z5h3i-…

Biden’s first arms-control decision involves the New START treaty's fate. It's a major issue, impacting Russia, China, and threats like N Korea and Iran. It should be a major topic of discussion for the @Ablinken confirmation hearings. More from me in @WSJ wsj.com/articles/joe-bidens-…

This is significant and alarming. In 2020 alone, even with COVID, China shot off more than 250 ballistic missiles, beating its own record in 2018 and 2019. The US, our partners and our allies cannot turn a blind eye #GreatWallofSecrecy washingtontimes.com/news/202…

Our previous President unilaterally disarmed under the INF Treaty. We said “enough” and left the one-sided deal that made America defenseless. #AmericaFirst

There were two parties to the INF Treaty. President Obama risked American lives by restricting our military while Russia cheated and built up its systems. When only one party to a two-party treaty is complying, that’s called stupid.

The @realDonaldTrump Administration is also leading on arms control. We refused to accept Russia’s violations of the INF and Open Skies Treaties. One party plays by the rules, the other doesn’t? Nyet. ow.ly/iuCI50D2QSX

China’s claims of “No First Use” are prevarication, not policy. China needs to honor its NPT obligations and stop its secretive, crash buildup. #GreatWallofSecrecy
China is the only nuclear-weapon state that has unconditionally committed itself not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear-weapon states or nuclear-weapon-free zones. Can the #US make such a commitment?

Good to join @FDD @CliffordDMay @Brad_L_Bowman to discuss arms control, Russia, and China’s crash nuclear weapons buildup.
It was a pleasure to join @CliffordDMay & Marshall Billingslea in this latest Foreign Podicy podcast to discuss arms control, the efforts of Moscow & Beijing to expand their nuclear arsenals, & how the U.S. should respond. @USArmsControl @StateDept fdd.org/podcasts/2020/12/22/…

“More significantly perhaps, Congress also added $60 million to the Army’s long-range hypersonic weapon, bringing the total to $861 million, and added $88.1 million to the request for the Army’s mid-range missile development.” breakingdefense.com/2020/12/…

Alaska is of strategic importance to the US. In the face of evolving threats to American and Allied security, we must enhance not only our missile defenses, but also look at deploying new @USMC & @USArmy mid-range capabilities in #Alaska, once developed.

In a world of rapidly expanding missile threats, #MissileDefense is of critical importance to US & Allied security. No arms control limits should ever (again) be placed on our ability to defend against missile attack. We will need more missile defenses, given China’s buildup.
