This June, we're joining the conversation around migraine and headache awareness. Did you know that the vast majority of headaches are not caused by a brain tumor? But knowing your headache patterns and when they change could be one of the most important things you do for your health. Headache warning signs to watch for: • A sudden, severe "thunderclap" headache unlike anything before • Headaches that are progressively worsening over weeks • Pain that's worse in the morning or wakes you from sleep • Headaches paired with vision changes, weakness, or confusion • New headaches in someone over 50 with no prior history • Headaches accompanied by nausea, vomiting, or seizures If something about your headaches feels different, trust that instinct. Our team at the USC Brain Tumor Center is here to listen, evaluate, and guide you with compassion and expertise. #MigraineAndHeadacheAwarenessMonth #HeadacheAwareness #BrainHealth #BrainTumorAwareness #USCBrainTumorCenter #KeckMedicineOfUSC #KnowTheSigns #BrainTumorCare

The USC Brain Tumor Center at Keck Medicine of USC offers GammaTile Therapy, a surgically targeted radiation treatment placed at the time of tumor removal for select patients with brain tumors. USC has  been recognized as a GammaTile Center of Excellence, offering this advanced treatment option for patients with tumors such as glioblastoma, meningioma, and metastatic brain tumors. To learn more about GammaTile and the growing evidence behind this technology, take a look at this recent Wall Street Journal article: “Radiation Device Placed in Brain Cuts Tumor Recurrence, Boosts Survival.” The article highlights new randomized clinical trial data showing that GammaTile, a small radioactive implant placed in the tumor cavity during surgery, reduced local tumor recurrence and improved two-year survival in patients with operable brain metastases (Link in Bio). For referrals or more information, call (844) 33-BRAIN / (844) 332-7246.

🔬Today, on Clinical Trials Day, we honor the extraordinary role clinical trials play in advancing medicine and creating new possibilities for patients and families. 🔬 Behind every breakthrough is a clinical trial—and behind every clinical trial is a dedicated community of researchers, physicians, coordinators, and, most importantly, patients. Clinical trials are where hope meets evidence. Where innovation is tested, discoveries take shape, and the future of care begins. We are deeply grateful to the patients who participate in clinical research, to the teams who make these studies possible, and to all those committed to pushing science forward in pursuit of better treatments and better outcomes. At the USC Brain Tumor Center, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continuously expand our clinical trials portfolio and accelerate research efforts until there is a cure. #ClinicalTrialsDay #ClinicalResearch #InnovationInMedicine #BrainTumorResearch #ClinicalTrials #USCBrainTumorCenter #HopeThroughResearch

This May, during Brain Tumor Awareness Month, we were incredibly honored to be welcomed by the students, families, and faculty of Mayfield Junior School for a special Reach Out Assembly benefiting the USC Brain Tumor Center at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and many other non profit organizations 💙 We are deeply grateful for the generosity, compassion, and advocacy shown by this community in support of causes that are close to the hearts of the 8th grade class. A very special thank you to Ruby, the daughter of a USC BTC patient and Advisory Board member, whose courage and dedication to raising awareness inspired this meaningful effort. This past Saturday, the USC Brain Tumor Center was proud to participate in the National Brain Tumor Society 5K, standing alongside patients, survivors, caregivers, families, advocates, clinicians, and researchers in support of the brain tumor community. We were especially honored that Frances Chow, MD, and Gabriel Zada, MD, were selected to deliver the welcome remarks, helping open the event with a message of hope, collaboration, and shared purpose. Our sponsorship of this meaningful event reflects the USC Brain Tumor Center’s continued commitment to advancing brain tumor research, expanding awareness, and supporting patients and families beyond the walls of the hospital. Being present at events like this is an important reminder that progress is made not only through science and clinical care, but also through community, advocacy, and the collective determination to improve outcomes for all those affected by brain tumors. #braincancerawareness #braintumorawarenessmonth #gograyinmay #community #hopeinaction
