STAPLES!! Abundant in paper based collections but they corrode leaving the paper stained and sometimes torn.
The staples were removed and pages were cleaned of surface dirt and iron oxide particles.

George Washington's copy of the Constitution, with his responsibilities and duties carefully noted in the margin ("President.")
He wanted to know the precise boundaries of his job.
On February 19, 1862, President Lincoln signed a formal order recommending the celebration of the birth of George Washington. Congress would declare it a federal holiday in 1885. The holiday was changed to the third Monday in February in 1971 & is now known as #PresidentsDay.
