1. The CALM-AF-AI trial is not designed to make the participants look extremely muscular. We start with a milder dose and mostly expect a local effect in the injected muscles (arms and legs).
2. Most of these animals have myostatin, often described as a “muscle brake,” completely switched off.
3. Our aim is to upregulate follistatin, which may downregulate myostatin and potentially lead to increased muscle mass.
4. This is a safety trial, so risks do exist. We are well aware of the risks associated with AAV gene delivery, and we have designed a multi-layered system to protect participants.
5. The trial has been approved by the GARM International Foundation IRB and Próspera Insurance Company. It is conducted in accordance with Próspera Health Services Regulation A, within a licensed medical facility. Participants are required to sign a comprehensive informed consent form before enrolling.
