Probably the most notorious drug lord to emerge out of South America, Pablo Escobar, was so wealthy he had money stashed away in pits, bunkers, and cabins all over Colombia. At the end of his life, he had become one of the most wanted fugitives in the world... (A thread)
UPDATE: Earlier, Anitah Among celebrated a victory in Busoga region after securing 499 votes against Kadaga’s 455 — a margin of 44 votes. #VisionUpdates #NRMDelegatesConference 📷@kamiriam

He was on the run with his wife and son, frequently changing locations as the cops closed in. At one point, they escaped to one of his get-away cabins in the middle of nowhere. It was winter, and the cabin had long been uninhabited, so there was no wood for the fire place.

The account of what followed is perfectly depicted in “Narcos.” Escobar picks bundles from a big stash and starts burning them in the fireplace to keep them warm. Several lessons can be drawn from this about the intoxicating but vain combination of crime, money, and power.

Maybe God will stay His hand, and we will be able to turn back the sexual immorality, infant sacrifice, illegal immigration, massive debt, damnable lies, hatred, greed, blasphemies. Or maybe He won’t, and He means for America to perish in judgment. Either way, submit to Christ.

The favorite go-to verse to shut down criticism. But let’s take a look. A rule of thumb of biblical interpretation is CONTEXT. Read in context, the verse is about God’s protection of past patriarchs and descendants of Israel. No connection AT ALL to pastors today! (Thread)
Do not touch God's anointed! Don't say I didn't warn you. It's ok for you not to believe in what he says or does BUT don't attack God's own.

Finally, there are a lot of abuses and errors in Charismatic circles. People are being fleeced, sexually assaulted, taken off medication, etc. Christianity is improperly blamed. It is up to Christians to expose false teaching, if only to point people to the true Gospel.

Good article from @krcraycraft: “MacArthur said there was ‘no military justification for the dropping of the bomb’ … Eisenhower added, ‘the Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing.’”
The atomic bombings of Japan are examined through the lens of Catholic moral teaching and the context of Japan’s surrender in World War II. bit.ly/4maTAMf

Yes - emphatically so. 26 of the 27 books in the N.T. directly warn about false doctrine and/or false teachers (only Philemon does not). We are commanded by scripture to mark, avoid, expose (Rom. 16:17; Titus 1:9; Eph. 5:11; 2 John 9-11) and there is even precedent for calling them out by name (2 Tim. 4:10; 1 Tim. 1:19-20; 2 Tim. 1:15; 2 Tim. 2:15, 17; 3 John 9). This is not even up for debate. It must be done with care, however. All heresy is error, but not all error is heresy. We must not call anyone a false teacher for error on non-essential doctrines, but for objective heresy, for false prophecies, for faking signs and wonders, and for exploiting the poor and the sick for personal financial gain.
Should Christians publicly call out false teachers? Why or why not?
