URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: I am in Moneta (near Roanoke), Virginia, to preach the 20th church anniversary of Troy Keaton and the Eastlake Community Church. The service was in a tent on campus, with close to 1,000 attendees. Ten minutes into the service, a sudden, severe weather event pulled the support poles out of the ground and blew the tent off. One of the elders of the church went to be with Jesus, and several others were seriously injured. Please pray for Pastor Troy, Eastlake Church, and this community - that the hope of our risen Savior would be theirs in abundance during this crisis.

So on Manhood.org, Dale Partridge is charging $2,200 /year for a cohort program styled heavily around Moscow mood / biblical manhood material for credibility. Key module: “Reading: Getting Gravitas by Bnonn Tennant”. This pulls straight from chapters 9 & 10 in “It’s Good to Be a Man” (co-authored by @BnonnTennant and @thisisfoster). Foster’s name is oddly scrubbed from the branding/credit in the paid program. Other curriculum: “Watch: The Leadership Rant with Doug Wilson”, the exact title of the public 2024 Matt Kim YouTube interview (youtu.be/GtlY0C0KSXc?is=Jy4M…). Public content assignment is one thing, but rebranded into a $2k paywall? Eh. Bnonn and @douglaswils / @canonpress may have signed off, or if Bnonn contributed original material for this (separate from the joint book), that’s fine. But given Dale’s history with attribution/plagiarism issues, and the fact that his church was denied CREC membership (while he’s partnered with NXR and others that have publicly distanced from Wilson), this setup looks inconsistent at best. I fully support manhood based cohorts like this and the pricing is fair, as I’ve contributed to a few myself with other NGO’s and for-profits. But, men paying serious money for masculine discipleship deserve full transparency on sourcing, permissions, and co-author credits. Especially when the curriculum teaches *gravitas* and integrity.

What can the Bible teach us about the sentence in the Karmelo Anthony trial?

SBC 26 was a convention about conviction. Southern Baptists showed up with conviction and voted for convictional candidates and convictional proposals. Conviction ran the table this year and conviction is the future of our convention. I’m grateful to be a Southern Baptist.

The absolute saddest part: this comes from their own apostles and prophets and yet modern day Mormons will call you a liar and flee to “where is that in our scriptures?!” when literally the majority of their doctrines and practices cannot be found in their scriptures. It’s the epitome of making one’s self the sole and ultimate authority on what is true. Where are the temple ceremonies outlined in their scriptures? Where is the first vision account in their scriptures: heck which version of the first vision account is even the real first vision account? Why is it that they will so quickly flee the very words of their prophets and apostles, even the modern church to change the narrative? Why would anyone trust an institution that has openly admitted it lied to its members and covered up the truth about its entire history (the treasure digging, polygamy, the seer stone, not real translations).

Not to wade into the SBC Worship Motion wars… but when we start singing a well-known hymn the convention sings about 10x louder… In the spirit of unity more of that would be nice.

This is the mantra to justify every sin and false belief, isn’t it? From the Garden onward… “I know better than God.”
