The 'In Memory Honor Roll Call: 1993-2025' will premiere on YouTube next Friday, June 19, at 10:00 AM EST. youtube.com/watch?v=ZAG49q7t… As is our tradition each year, we read the names of ALL past In Memory honorees from all years virtually in an online, shareable format the day before we induct new honorees. You can see the photos of all In Memory honorees while hearing their names being read. Honorees are in order of induction year, alphabetical within the year. Please share with family and friends far and wide. NOTE that the 2026 honorees are NOT included in this In Memory Honor Roll Call yet - as we give new honoree families the chance to be the first to read their names in person on site each year. They will be added in 2027.

Special thanks to OOIDA's driver and ambassador, Army veteran Marty Ellis, for hauling The Wall That Heals into Brookings, South Dakota. He said this truck was specially made and extended just to haul The Wall That Heals and he’s happy to be the first to drive it on OOIDAs behalf. We’ve long had other OOIDA members hauling us, but without the broad support and vision to participate in this effort, the healing and education at The Wall That Heals would be much more challenging. Thank you, Marty! And a shout out to the escort crew that saw us into Brookings, South Dakota safely. Thank you, riders! The Wall That Heals, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall came to White County recently. It is always impactful to see the names of those I knew and fought with in Vietnam. I am glad that Hoosiers could also be supported through this amazing event. Thank you to all the workers and volunteers who made this event possible.

Today we remember Bob Hope's birthday. Born in England, raised in Ohio, Bob Hope originally got into show business doing vaudevillian and comedic work. His midwestern work ethic pushed him into stand-up comedy, Broadway, films, and song. Hope’s unique style of dance brought joy to millions and the ability to do it all arguably made Bob Hope a man worth remembering. However, what set him apart and established his legacy was his commitment to the military men and women who served overseas. Hope’s unwavering support for the troops earned him the unique privilege of being named an “Honorary Veteran” by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. vvmf.org/topics/Bob-Hope/

VVMF has received the very sad news that Diane Carlson Evans has passed away. Diane was a U.S. Army nurse, a Vietnam veteran, and Founder of the Vietnam Women’s Memorial. Diane's every thought was about remembering and honoring the service of ALL our Vietnam veterans. While she wanted to make sure the service and stories of those who happened to be women would be included, in a recent conversation, we shared the conviction that they are Vietnam veterans first and women second. At 'The Wall,' the place set aside by our country for Vietnam veterans, going forward, may we honor all Vietnam veterans -- regardless of rank, branch of service, job responsibilities, race, religion or even gender. Her courage, dedication and resolve to honor her fellow Vietnam veterans was unmatched. We will miss her presence at every ceremony, but now her spirit will always be there on that hallowed ground. Godspeed, Diane, and Welcome Home.
