This will be a unilateral decision that will not ask Canadians for their input.

This is a terrible move. As soon as some government orders Apple to start turning off the phones of critics or dissidents, why would we expect Apple to protect users when they added identity surveillance to iPhone in UK and moved Chinese user data to state owned data centers?
Congress is stepping up to give United States developers a chance against platform monopolies like Apple! Developers in the EU, Japan, and Brazil are now free to compete with Apple; it’s about time to have these rights here.
