Ford also promised me he'd take action on Tarion, and get his minister or chief of staff to call me. Promises, no action. Ford knows what needs to be done, but his gov't remains in hiding on this issue. We need a strong, vocal opposition. Where are @MaritStiles @BonnieCrombie ?

#DYK The ON Ministry (Public & Business Service Delivery) forces Tarion to pay the Ministry to "oversee" Tarion. In 2024 Tarion paid the Ministry $654,000 for "oversight". That same ministry is responsible for consumer protection. This arrangement feels like a racket. #onpoli

Not the confusing Tarion "administrator" model which has never convinced consumers it is independent of builders. New home buyers are not well-served with the out-dated Tarion model. Consumers beware: Tarion is not a "title insurance" company either. @mediacorp "Best Employers GTA" list is inaccurate by characterzing Tarion as such.

When I purchased my new construction, before my 1 yr report to Tarion, I paid a home inspector to come in and inspect the house so I could submit my report to Tarion under my warranty. The shit the guy found filled a binder! Best 250 bucks I ever spent. Highly recommend.
