looking back and forth through my #gamedev stuff and I feel as if the perspective is slightly off, perhaps there's a better workflow for drawing the tiles...

Working on my solo dev THPS inspired skateboarding game in Godot and I got wall plants and gaps working. I spent some time trying to make clearing objectives feel better. The level is super WIP (everything is) but it has some fun lines to it and I'm having a good time.

Made my first "game" in RPG Maker. to see that the old forum is getting "Alexandria'd" does leave a bitter taste. Though i find no interest in it anymore, I respect those who want to preserve such knowledge.
Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback to help protect the community and everyone’s important assets. We are currently working on how to archive the community assets from RPG Maker Forums. We will do our best to provide an update as soon as possible.

More melee character testing, got a 3 hit combo down, a new stance foundation with a spin attack, just now needs to be fine tuned so it's more rewarding! #gamedev #solodev #shmup

Any AI assets are used only as placeholders that are being replaced with manually created materials, says the Crazy Taxi: World Tour lead, Kenji Kanno, to Kotaku. “We used it as a reference, so our artists would pull up [and] generate some of their ideas, and then they would look at that, you know, generated image, and then they would draw the actual thing. So actual creators, everything from programming to assets, everything is made by an actual human. It’s only used as a reference for them to look at, and then they would actually create the actual thing that would go into the game.” SEGA is far from the first company to use AI for such purposes. While such publishers often face initial criticism, it seems that the tool is becoming the industry’s norm. #SEGA #CrazyTaxi
Regarding the generative AI usage in Crazy Taxi: World Tour. While the fact is concerning, especially regarding the future of other series like Sonic the Hedgehog, the extent of usage remains vague. In the description on the game’s Steam page, SEGA hints at the AI tools only being used for technical purposes and for routine tasks to help the creators concentrate on creative work. Brian Shea, the Executive Editor at Game Informer, revealed that the AI was used for some background assets of the project, which are still “subject to review by the development team”. This wording generally falls in line with many other publishers who disclosed such usage of AI recently, those being Capcom, PlayStation, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, and many others. #SEGA #SonicNews

The weekend was hard at work on the Melee character. No melee character is complete without a spin attack! #gamedev #solodev #melee #shmup

we scrapped our Zelda-inspired Battle Royale game and turned it into an online adventure RPG that feels like a mini-MMO with top down combat coming 2026

A melee character will be able to charge to shoot a projectile, charging will vary on which "Stance" is currently active. in Balance, this character swings a large projectile. Kinda like a 2011 dungeon crawler...? #gamedev #solodev #shmup

Melee Character test. I still feel as if my melee combat needs some more... oomph, if y'know what I'm sayin'? I intend to replace Shot types with some form of "Style" system, but I ain't 100% on it yet. #gamedev #solodev #shmup

To add; This "Style" system would work in a form of balance, attack, defend. so that a melee character in balance, could do most things Where as in attack, you would hit harder and probably have some range. and defend would have a better parry window or some form of active block.

I don't normally rant on like this but I have had some time off to recollect and figure out how i want to go about this. Should I drop a demo so you can get your grubby lil hands on it? I don't think this will be on Steam anytime soon, but let me know! 👍
