While Ohio always reports the unofficial results on Election Night, the Official Canvass takes place within 21 days of the election. During that time, boards of elections carefully review and count provisional ballots, cured absentee ballots, and any other valid votes. This process ensures every eligible vote is counted accurately and transparently for the final tally. Learn more about the Official Canvass here: ohiosos.gov/elections/electi…

Mr. Putsch cannot run as an independent in the 2026 Governor race. Under Ohio’s “Sore Loser Law” a candidate who runs in a party primary is prohibited from running in the general election as an independent. Read more here: ohiosos.gov/assets/dir2026-1…

I'm calling on @CaseyPutsch to get on the ballot as an Independent in Ohio to prevent Vivek Ramaswamy from winning.

Stuart Moats submitted to our office today a withdrawal of candidacy for the office of lieutenant governor as part of the Heather Hill / Stuart Moats joint candidacy for governor and lieutenant governor. Absent a valid lieutenant governor candidate, Ms. Hill no longer qualifies to receive votes for the office of governor. Ohio's 88 county boards of elections have been notified that any votes for Heather Hill / Stuart Moats will not be counted, and each board must also provide notice.

In Ohio, election observers are appointed by political parties, groups of candidates, and issue committees. Separate from bipartisan teams of poll workers, these observers play an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability in Ohio's election process. Every observer must take an oath before observing. To learn more, click here: ohiosos.gov/elections/freque…

1/3 🧵Great question. The "secret ballot" has been the standard for voting in the United States for over a hundred years. Prior to that, voting was effectively public and political parties printed their own ballots.

2/3 Here is an example of an actual Ohio ballot from the Civil War. Unfortunately, this system led to vote buying, intimidation, and corruption. So how can you be sure your vote was cast accurately? ⬇️

3/3 1) Every ballot is reconciled with a public list of eligible voters to guarantee the principle of "one person, one vote." 2) Every vote is documented on a voter-marked or voter-verified paper ballot. 3) Ballots can only be counted or handled by teams of Republican and Democratic election officials to prevent tampering. 4) After every election Ohio conducts a bipartisan hand-count audit of the results. 5) Ballots are retained by local boards for a period of time and are available for public inspection.

In Ohio, a person who is 17 years old at the time of a primary election, but will be 18 years old by or on the day of the next general election, is allowed to vote in that primary election. However, their voting is limited to candidates seeking nomination for the general election and presidential convention delegates. They cannot vote on questions, issues, or state and central committee contests in the primary. Register to vote today at VoteOhio.gov!

This video claims that “in Ohio, your driver’s license is not proof of citizenship.” Respectfully, that is incorrect. Ohioans are required by the BMV to present proof of citizenship when obtaining a license. As a result, Ohio considers a driver license to be proof of citizenship, unless the license indicates a noncitizen status. Ohio driver licenses clearly state when a license holder is not a U.S. citizen. For more information, please consult the Ohio Secretary of State’s website at the link below: ohiosos.gov/elections/voter-…

While absentee ballots must now be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, this change in Ohio law does not impact the deadline for military and overseas voters. Mailed UOCAVA ballots may still be received up to 4 days after Election Day. Learn more about absentee voting in Ohio here: ohiosos.gov/elections/freque…

For anyone confused by this irresponsible headline, the records referenced do not include HOW you voted in any election. Our office does not even have that information. They do include the publicly available voter file (Ohio has made this public since 2006, and can be found on our website) and a few additional pieces of information, such as the last 4 of a Social Security number, needed to accurately identify any potentially ineligible voters in accordance with state and federal law.

That is a serious accusation, without any credible proof that we are aware of. Bipartisan election officials are responsible for reviewing, confirming voter ID, and signature matching every absentee ballot and ballot request form. If you have credible information this is not being done, let us know immediately so we can ensure Ohio's high standards are upheld. If you don't, stop spreading fake information about Ohio's dedicated election officials.
If the county boards of election enforced signature verification for absentee ballots as aggressively as they do for candidate petitions over half of mail-in ballots would be thrown out. They don't even check signatures on the majority mail-in ballots.
