I'm very pleased that my new co-authored article is our today! It explores the use of oral history in doctoral research, the under-investigated emotional labour involved in doing oral history, and the lack of support for dealing with it in HE. @oralhistreview
Today is the launch of my book in paperback! Looking critically at how ‘patient centred care’ has been conceptualised and implemented, it won the BSA/FSHI Book Prize in 2023. To celebrate, there’s 30% discount if you use code EME30 here: bookstore.emerald.com/recons…@HealthRI_MMU

Time: 2-5pm

#MadZines
ALT Madzines are a means of challenging and contesting mainstream understandings about mental health. This session will provide a brief introduction to the Madzines research project and our existing collection of Madzines. The collection includes perzines (personal zines) and collective zines and touches on a wide range of topics relating to experiences of madness and distress. We'll bring along zine making materials, and there will then be an opportunity to create Madzines - for contributing, if wished, to the Madzines 'takeover' of the Morecambe and Lancaster zine library. That will be launched on Saturday 9 November(same venue) from 2-4.30pm, in association with 'Being Human: the National Festival of the Humanities'. Everybody welcome to either or both events.
CCrAMHP is a discussion group based in Lancaster and this will also be an opportunity to find out more about the group and about Asylum magazine.

On my way to @UniversityLeeds to give a talk on interpreting #oralhistories of past models of mental healthcare as part of the Oral History Collective @OHC_SFL seminar series. Looking forward to meeting all! @ntu_research
Despite never being a fan of seeing/hearing myself on screen, I am quite pleased how this short video on my research has panned out. Many thanks to all involved in making it happen. ntu.ac.uk/research/researche…
