How do we make healthcare decisions for people in a Disorder of Consciousness (DoC)? Decisions aim to reflect their best interests, but how well do we truly achieve this?
Teresa Clark’s PhD research (@UniofNottingham, @RHNuk) introduces risk-making theory, highlighting overlooked social factors in DoC decision-making. This work hopes to help families & clinicians feel more confident in their choices.

A critical report & as highlighted the decline in clinical researchers - doctors, nurses, allied health etc has serious consequences both for the healthcare system & the economy. Nurses & midwives make up more >50% of the workforce time to make research a core part of their role
A new report has outlined an urgent need to address the declining number of clinical researchers in the UK. Professors @LucyChappell2 and @WaljitD alongside other key partners contributed to the report and a set of key recommendations to tackle the issue at a national level.
