Good question is why Modi was summoned to meet Trump. For all the subservience, I doubt Modi WANTS to meet Trump while they continue to spank us. He can't answer questions and Trump has a strong track record of publicly humiliating him. But he's still showing up. So this is a summoning.
Gut feel remains that Operation Sindoor was a far bigger fuck up than we've been allowed to know. It changed geopolitical equations in ways the US didn't like. India's leash has been yanked brutally, repeatedly and mercilessly ever since, without even the slightest fig leaf of it being unintentional, accidental, regretted, etc.
Public outrage on the killing of three Indian sailors is real. Everyone knows some additional bad news are being suppressed. But the other story of a sailor perishing on board a ship is also being followed widely. This rage is rare.

It’s the credibility of your predecessors that allows you to get away with lying for a very long time, covering up your crimes and misdemeanours. Nobody can believe that someone in your position can lie that big! Again, it is the strength of the institutions they built that gives everyone the false comfort that you can't do much damage and the belief that the institutions must be following the law sincerely.
