I could never thank these artists and craftsmen enough for the immense joy and magic and inspiration they have brought to my life. πŸ˜πŸ™
Last month members of ILM's original crew from Star Wars: A New Hope gathered at their former studio space in Southern California. 50 years ago in 1976, they were busily preparing the world's most innovative visual effects facility to create over 300 shots for George Lucas' space fantasy. Guests at the reunion included everyone from modelmakers and production coordinators to visual effects supervisors and camera operators. Some crews remain bonded forever. Photography by Chloe Dykstra

If a guy did what Marcia Lucas did, both personally and professionally, he would be called a douche and rightly so. Search your feelings.

No love lost. Nerds have elevated this liar and cheat to cult status as they try to retroactively make her responsible for a certain 1977 blockbuster’s success. Meanwhile, this β€œextremely talented” woman never accomplished anything else the rest of her whole pathetic existence.

OHMSS - The best lens-flare-filled helicopter mountaintop lair attack footage in film history. Directly inspired Christopher Nolan's snow fortress attack in INCEPTION.

They removed CD/DVD drives from devices. They made physical media harder to buy and use. They removed expandable storage from phones. They pushed us into streaming subscriptions. They made always-online normal. They made unlimited internet necessary. Then slowly raised the price of everything. Ownership quietly became renting.

I see people shaming them for the DVD player they bought, or for even buying DVDs. We got to stop doing that, let people enjoy finding physical media again the way they want. Yes better players exist, and blu-rays are superior, but they're buying physical media and that's a win.
People are ditching their streaming services and going back to DVDs after recent price hikes from streaming providers - good idea?

The Best 'Exposition Dump' in Film History. In 5 minutes, Spielberg lays out the characters, mythology, locations, artifacts and the entire narrative engine of the film. The audience discovers everything alongside Indy each detail pays off later. A masterclass in storytelling.

Buy physical media. It doesn’t matter whether it’s VHS, DVD, or Ultra HD Blu-ray. Choose based on your budget and your preferences, but buy physical media πŸ’Ώβœ¨
To add to this, stop buying DVDs. Blu-Rays are better ( most of the time) and your PlayStation 3-5 and Xbox One/Series can play them

The folks who constantly harp on β€œhistorical accuracy” are so damn boring. I can enjoy a good documentary about the Spartans but I fucking love the stylized storytelling of β€˜300.’
"wHy Do THeY haVe aN AMerIcaN aCCent?" I don't know? Why does a Spaniard in Ancient Rome have a fucking Australian Accent? Does it matter? NO!
