ALT We, the Editorial Team of Völkerrechtsblog, have decided to freeze our X account due to changes in the platform that no longer support substantial discourse. Meaningful communication in academic contexts depends on transparency and respect for diverse perspectives. Sadly, the platform’s updates have made this particularly difficult.
Since its ownership change, X’s algorithm has been adjusted to promote certain viewpoints while limiting the visibility of others. We thus believe that the platform has transformed from a space for constructive exchange to one that amplifies challenges for fruitful discourse.
To maintain our commitment to freedom of expression, polyphony and diverse academic discourse, we are joining many other institutions in freezing our presence. Our account will remain visible but inactive as a sign of protest against forms of silencing and disinformation. We encourage others in the academic and scientific community to consider whether X still aligns with their values.
Our symposium closes with a #podcast featuring @VitscheBerlin, which challenges the victimhood portrayal of women in war. We discuss #FeministActivism, the fight against Russian disinformation, & the intersection of feminism & anti-colonial perspectives!🎧
