Las #Vegas Earthquake We felt swaying here at the Clark County Government Center in the downtown area. Some of the strongest tremors were felt in Summerlin, makes sense given that's on the west side closest to the earthquake. 📷: @USGS_Quakes & @NVEarthquakes

One wonders when institutions such as Clark County will stop playing games with the taxpayer's money, stop trying to hide embarrassing mistakes, and come clean. If they refuse, people such as @MaryHynes1 will be there to see they do it anyway. reviewjournal.com/investigat…

The invocation at Clark County has been in place long before I was elected. The County guidelines, that invocation speakers agree to and sign, don’t allow for divisive or demeaning language to other groups. It is not a time to argue your political beliefs, there is time given during public comment to voice these types of opinions. I understand our Constitution, all faiths are able to and have participated in the County’s invocation. In my term, I have witnessed many different religious communities participate and have never heard any disrespectful language used during the invocation. It is delivered peacefully and is usually an encouraging message. Unfortunately this did not occur before the Tuesday BCC meeting. The person mocked and ridiculed other religious groups, which is not allowed. Political and sectarian statements are not allowed. The theatrics are also not allowed. What should have been a moment of reflection and encouragement was turned into an attack on some audience members’ beliefs. Again, this is not allowed. My recommendation is, and will continue to be, there must be consequences when rules are broken. I believe this person should be prohibited from participating again.
