The Mall is filled with colour, ceremony and tradition as the Trooping the Colour parade makes its way to Buckingham Palace🇬🇧👑 Set against the grand backdrop of central London, the parade remains one of the most cherished events in the royal calendar and a lasting symbol of Britain’s ceremonial heritage. 🎥 @theroyalfamily #londonmakesitpossible #visitlondon #troopingthecolour #theroyalfamily

Well done and well-deserved!
Humbled but delighted to be on the list for the King’s Birthday Honours today. And for the citation for “exceptional political longevity”! Thanks to all my family, friends and supporters over many years.

Indeed.

Case in point: the Prime Minister just said defence is "a number one priority". Growth was meant to the number one priority, is it still? There's not enough money for defence, but today the Government announced £4.5 BILLION for walking and cycling. Make choices. Decide. Lead.

This is an appalling chart that deserves to be pilloried whatever perspective you start with. Look at the disparity in time periods. Orange should be 70% higher just to show a sustained rate of questions. The title as being a "Comparison" is utterly ludicrous. As percentages in those time periods it *might* be fine, but it is not shown like for like.
If you are wondering why British politics is such a binfire, look at the priorities of our political debate. (Source = Hansard).

The new 4G 5G map. The Underground is finally catching up with the overground: more tunnels, more stations, more signal. By year’s end, the Tube should be fully connected so delays can now be blamed with 5G precision. #London

Faced with a choice between a Defence Secretary who wanted to spend more on our armed forces, a Chancellor who wouldn’t, and an Attorney General who enjoys suing them, the Prime Minister decided he could do without … the Defence Secretary.

Burnham to spend £billions on Waspi compensation. Where is the money coming from?
NEW: Andy Burnham has hinted at a new multibillion-pound spending commitment if he becomes PM, saying that more than 3.5mn women “deserve” compensation over what he regards as a pension scandal Earlier I attended a Makerfield hustings event hosted by @MENnewsdesk, in which Burnham said: “I stick by campaigners that I support. I stuck by the Hillsborough families, I’ll stick by the Waspi women because they deserve some recompense for the unfairness.” Stressing he wouldn’t ditch his longterm support for Waspi women, he said he felt “uncomfortable” that some politicians threw their support behind a cause but then went into government and “didn’t do anything” ft.com/content/1021ae5f-aab3…

The concerns here align with what I hear everyday. The rapidly rising costs of employing staff, beer and food driven by government policies are threatening a huge proportion of our pubs, bars and restaurants. cityam.com/fullers-slams-unp…

Before someone blames planning policies or local residents (!), I can confirm @CityWestminster would be happy to look at this if changes to the building are needed!
The state of parliamentary security is absolutely appalling Queues of well over half an hour last couple of times I have been for meetings, security staff moving at a glacial pace An embarrassing spectacle - how can it require thorpe park style queues just to meet an MP for coffee?

🤣 To be fair, the iniative is a good one, but this is till funny.
I tried the government's new AI "Jobcentre in your pocket" chatbot. Could it write me a CV? It could. It also suggested that I should consider employment law and whether I've been discriminated against. Key detail: I'm a parrot.
