@ESDteam123 supported teachers’ understanding of Earth’s systems & changes thru research & data collection. At the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site, they went on an Ice Age Flood Tour organized by the REACH Museum, seeing how local phenomena-based learning can deepen student learning.

The organizations facilitated professional learning with educators on complex climate science topics within a local place-based setting. The work also focused on educating teachers on Indigenous ways of knowing, specifically as they relate to climate science education.

While schools were closed, the community at Bemiss Elementary (@spokaneschools) broke ground on their new school rain garden with support from WGS. When students return to school, they’ll have a new outdoor classroom, ready for exploration, right outside their door.
