We applaud the Oct 2 decision by state and federal agencies, to temporarily suspend the Fall X2 component of the Summer Fall Habitat Action.
This decision reflects the growing body of scientific evidence that fall water flows are not essential for supporting the endangered Delta smelt and ensures that our valuable water resources are managed wisely.

Last Thursday, Governor Gavin Newsom appointed IEUA and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) Board Member Michael Camacho to serve as MWD’s Alternate Board Member to the Colorado River Board of California (CRB), joining Gloria Cordero, Metropolitan’s current representative to the CRB.
MWD Board Chair Adán Ortega, Jr. shared that Director Camacho was appointed based on his knowledge, skills, and expertise to protect California’s rights and access to the resources provided by the Colorado River. He has been a member of IEUA's Board since 2008 and MWD's Board since 2011.
