Whenever I see/hear the name Lola, I involuntarily sing Copacabana in my head. Walk past Lola’s Cupcakes at a tube station? 🧠=🎶Her name was Lola🎶 Lola gets mentioned on Love Island? 🧠=🎶Her name was Lola🎶 It’s and constant and I can’t do anything about it! Anyone else?

Wesignation time?
EXCLUSIVE from @breeallegretti @patrickkmaguire @Geri_E_L_Scott Wes Streeting has told allies that he is preparing to resign and trigger a leadership contest as soon as tomorrow The health secretary confronted Starmer this morning during a meeting ahead of the King’s Speech that lasted just 16 minutes over the turmoil engulfing the Labour Party Allies of Streeting who have spoken to him directly said that he has made clear that he is “going to go for it”. One said that he is likely to resign on Thursday and mount a formal challenge for the leadership One Streeting ally who has spoken to him said: “He is going to go for it. He’s going tomorrow.” Discussions have also been held to prepare for MPs to sign Streeting’s nomination papers, according to one of those with knowledge of the plans. Another who has spoken to him said that claims by Starmer’s allies that he has “bottled it” are wide of the mark and that he made clear in private that he will make a bid for the leadership A spokesman for Streeting said: “Wes is the Health Secretary, he is proud of his record of falling waiting lists and a recovering NHS. He is not planning to say anything following his meeting with the Prime Minister that might distract from the King’s Speech.” thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

Today on Radio 2, @theJeremyVine was asking about which jobs AI won't be able to do. #Radio producers, reckon we're okay for now?

Police told me they were dealing with an investigation.
Been told there has been "a sort of incident' in Whitehall. The whole main road is now closed.

I wonder if Steve Cram learned the rules of curling in a very intense, short space of time.

Please stop putting QR codes on TV adverts. I’m not going to open my phone camera and scan it during the <10 seconds it’s on screen. Just tell me what I need to know. Has anyone ever scanned a QR code from a TV ad?

Very interesting afternoon on part of #ThisOxfordStreet with no vehicles. Presumably if #OxfordStreet does go fully pedestrianised, it wouldn’t be a party like today all the time. But it has to be said - the vibe was brilliant. #AnnieMac made sure of it!

Great to interview Dee Kitchen for our item on unintended consequences of the Online Safety Act today. He set up and ran a community forum website called Microcosm, but has stepped back because of the act. Item from start of the second hour here: bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002gg…

I saw a bus on fire outside the Portland Hospital on Great Portland Street this morning. The driver told me no passengers were hurt. I left shortly after the second fire engine arrived.

Replying to @denkmit
What did they expect putting the Grand Prix THE WEEK BEFORE THE IOM! What is the British public going to choose? A poorly advertised event or 2 weeks in Douglas getting pissed in a bear tent?

The @NYTGames are great, but I’m not sure how much longer I can put up with this ridiculousness! Come on British newspapers, surely there’s a collab waiting to happen here. Imagine being able to use the full extent of our glorious language in #SpellingBee.

The Apprentice is great TV. But why do they always do the consumer research after they’ve made the product? Surely they’d make a better thing if they found out what people wanted first?

We took the decision today to voice up and read out, on Radio 2, every word of John Hunt's victim impact statement. At ten minutes precisely it must be the longest monologue we've ever broadcast. We did so with good reason - give it a read if you haven't: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyd…
