Let’s play a fun game. You wake up to find yourself in the Pokémon universe only none of the kids speak your language and they keep attacking you with their other humans. What do they think your name is? Mine is Patchoo, my evolved form is Fuckigpollen.

There’s 7 stages of grief but how many stages to breakups? And which number is sing/screaming to Beyoncé, Pink, and Whitney Houston while crying on your drive to work?

Finally through a months long writers block. Don’t know how it is for all of you but for me they’re like my brain is a car stuck stuck in the snow. Tires are spinning, I’m still filling pages but we’re not going anywhere. #amwriting

I’m glad skinny jeans are out now. I looked like a potato on stilts.

Truer words have never been written.

Day 10: power is supposed to be restored today. I am looking forward to the simple pleasures of flicking a switch and having total dominion over the power of LIGHT!

Waldo. We read it then our teacher made us stand outside and “take in nature” over by smoker’s hill. We wrote a reflection on it. 16 y.o. me wrote about how it was pointless. No deeper meaning. That was how I learned about nihilism- from the teacher’s red ink scrawled on my paper
Day 9 no power: I’m at my moms. We got Chinese food. I don’t know if my fortune is good luck or a terrible curse.

Well no snow but freezing rain has started. Watching the bare tree branches become slowly encased in ice with the heater going and the cat sleeping seems like a great day to get some editing done.

Oh sweet summer child.
Day fleeb of no power. Does time still exist? Or only dim and dark? Maybe time to pull out that gag gift from Christmas and take up making sweaters from spare car fur. They will be closer if they wear each other. Gotta go the defrosted turkey needs let out.
Day 6 no power. We’ve retreated to my moms. She bought toaster strudels. I am instantly 16 again.

Day 4 trapped in the house with no power and down lines blocking my car. We’re down to fruit loops and tortilla chips, everyone stinks and I’ve adapted to going to bed at 6:30 because that’s when it gets dark.
Yelling at my cat this morning for eating my cereal while I looked away. Why does he do this? It’s Fiber One in unsweetened soy milk, not Meaty-Os in tuna can juice.

Enchilasagna- the thing you make when your spouse does the grocery shopping and doesn’t quite get the right ingredients. Couldn’t make enchiladas with street taco size tortillas so I layered them instead like a lasagna. Surprisingly delicious.

And on that day the white women discovered “spice”. Ha, they thought to themselves, scooping the garlic butter from their elbow pits, let no one say our food is bland again!
#WritingCommunity I need recommendations for some books to read while I hang out in a cabin in the woods. I’m willing to try any genre as long as it’s good! Thanks.

We’re going to stay in a cabin in the woods with no WiFi or cell service. Here’s hoping there’s still a country when we get back!

9pm felt real weird. Part of the world had made it to 2021 but out here on the west coast of the U.S. we were stuck in 2020. We’re the place Simba was warned about. The Earth after Wall-E leaves. District 9. We spray chrome on our masks and shake murder hornets from the trees.
Took a walk in the rain with my kiddo today and passing by his school all bundled up reminded me that somehow he’d made it to winter this year without losing 4 coats at school so I guess remote learning was good for something.
