I 💗 doing demo lessons with teachers & students! A very smart 2nd grade teacher booked me to come in to teach her littles HOW to navigate a digital test. There are SO many little nuances of online assessments that need to be explicitly taught so that we truly assess content knowledge when it’s test time. #WTPSedtech

Today I led our #DREAMteam teachers through a hexagonal thinking activity to review and synthesize information. This was a new strategy for most of them, and now they’ve added it to their own “teaching toolboxes” as a great teaching strategy! #WTPSedtech

This is my district’s 1st year with Google, so there’s obviously a lot of learning going on. When I sat down to work with a staff member today, I learned that she & many others miss the folder system of Microsoft Outlook (all of their folders were migrated over and are now labels in Gmail), and they didn’t really know what archive was - so I made a video! youtu.be/H5uI08_dVwk?feature…. #WTPSedtech #GoogleEDU #gmail #GoogleET

Today I met with my team to lay out this plan for the "edtech day" of our district's upcoming Administrative Retreat. I really leaned into the "retreat" part and planned a very zen day of intentional, mindful & focused learning - with built-in time for "self-exploration" for each of our 5 major topics. Some phenomenal WTPS teachers reached out to me a few days ago and asked if they could learn @canva this summer. I explained that the school district (aka: my department) wasn’t offering Canva sessions this summer, but that I’m always happy to teach them anywhere and anytime…and I meant it! (I just can’t pay them for PD time) Soooo - today we met at Bonesaw Brewery! Today I presented “Intro to @ParentSquare Posts” for our school administrators. I explained that just like social media, posts with images draw more attention. I created these fun images for them in @Canva so they could all jump right in and create their first posts to staff. #WTPSedtech
