The @BridgewaterWay canal towpath in #SaleTown remains closed under the bridge near Sale Metrolink Station and Sale Town Hall due to water repairs by @unitedutilities - nearly two weeks :(

Due to a burst water main in Sale Trafford, the Bridgewater Canal towpath will be closed at Sale Waterside, until United Utilities are able to complete the repair and re-instate the towpath.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately there has been another major de-coning event on the A56. Cycleway cones missing on large sections of southbound carriageway, and probably other places too.
Please could they be replaced?

A56 cones back, and within less than 24 hours, 3 seem to have lost their lives protecting 🚴♀️ from motorists who don’t seem able to drive in a straight line, avoiding highly visible cones. This is why cyclists need segregation - safety.

Hello there. Just so you’re aware, the A56 cones have not been removed by the council, these were part of a systematic theft of the cones overnight. This has been reported to the police and we’ll be working with the police going forward on this matter.

A56 at 8.35 - Main route into M/cr and NO traffic. It’s amazing what happens when schools are closed & the school run disappears. Just think, if it was safe for children to cycle to school like their Dutch counterparts, this could be normal. @DameSarahStorey @TomWRoss

Is anyone in #Trafford assured by this comment about safe cycling on the A56?
Or are we admitting that the vandals are winning?
UPDATE: Council insists traffic team regularly check the lanes to replace any missing cones, proposes "to replace the cones on this section of the highway with an interim cycling scheme"
