v0.6.0-alpha just released! This is the foundational snapshot update.

Added full snapshot system with atomic writes, checksum verification, and recovery RPCs (/head and /block/:slot).
Hourly internal encrypted snapshots 6-hour Arweave dumps are now wired in at the struct level.
Still integrating pruning and full startup restore in the main loop. Should take 1-4 weeks low and high. Phase 4 progress right on schedule.

After a few alpha releases, v0.6.1 is finally released!
This one is a decent milestone.
6-hour archive segments (2,160 blocks) are now live.
Automatic generation, atomic writes, full read-back verification, deterministic checksums, and pruning only after successful verify.
Genesis identity is fixed at startup. Persistence mostly done now without turning it into a heavy node. Still runs clean on low-end hardware.

Hey validators, the Valid Blockchain will not follow the 99% uptime religion.
I've developed a "drop in-drop out" system that has no impact on finality.
This allows validators to operate in regions with unstable power/internet.
Heavy consensus keeps validation participation concentrated in the US, Europe, parts of Asia and S.A. Enough of that.

This is...sad and unfortunate. Look, Cardano chose to play politics. Invented their own and implemented it. Was completely unnecessary...Good luck trying to shake the power structures you didn't have to craete.

The more I think about it, the more I feel something like an annual DRep voting power complete reset should happen on Cardano after a budget cycle.
This would then
- Ensure users re-evaluate their choices annually.
- Auto-correct occurrences where wallets like Yoroi effectively take voting power without telling the user.
- Make DReps campaign harder.
- Decentralize overall voting power.
- Make governance more competitive.
- Reduce collusion opportunities.
- Contribute towards on-chain transactions.
- Improve governance.
