Destroyed the foundational idea of youth sports and as a consequence turned sports into a hobby for rich kids.
A downstream effect of college being so unaffordable is that private equity has bought up youth sports and turned it into a college scholarship hunger games that is ruining communities and putting parents in debt

College hoops has turned into Europe hoops. New coaches every few years. Reconstructing entire rosters each year with 2-4 people staying. High expectations to win nonetheless. Players looking for big money no matter the situation. This is literally every season in Europe.

I see “4 and 5 star” kids don’t defend.. don’t run back on defense.. disrespect their coaches.. workout with beanies on… and wonder why their game doesn’t translate to the highest level. Basketball is a game of respect. If you disrespect the game it will disrespect you.
