National Insurance Fund account has surplus of £72.5bn.
Boosted by hikes to pension age (especially hurting women born in the 1950s), erosion of real value of the state pension & benefits.
There is capacity to pay and compensate women, but govt refuses.

It is a disgraceful decision. Keir Starmer himself had previously supported fair and fast compensation for #WASPI women.

On Thursday morning, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Pat McFadden announced that WASPI women were once again to be denied compensation for the injustice they have experienced thanks to his department’s maladministration. WASPI’s officers and lawyers have already begun scrutinising both the statement to Parliament and the detailed reasons. Thank you to @wendychambLD for her steadfast support for #WASPI women. Her @LibDems colleagues want to see compensation paid, as do many @UKLabour and @Conservatives MPs and the majority of the public. Do the right thing now, @patmcfaddenmp.
I have written to the Secretary of State once again urging the Government to deliver long-overdue justice for WASPI women.
The Ombudsman has been clear: these women were failed by the system, and they deserve fair compensation - not more delay.
