The current system is the one you introduced, Helen. You introduced PIP to cut costs, you introduced Universal Credit to cut costs. AND you cut defence budgets. Now you blame the PM of just 23 months. Talk about snake oil politics.
I’ve launched a review of the sickness benefits system. It’s broken. Last year we set out £23bn welfare savings including stopping benefits to foreigners & for milder mental health. This review will look at the whole system and set out our plan to fix it.

If it was Farage's house he'd be given £10m from an offshore donor to build a moat and have guards patrolling the perimeter 24/7

The seven victims were aged 12 and younger. The "systematic" and "shocking" child sex abuse crimes - committed by a group of women and men - took place over nearly a decade in Walsall and Wolverhampton The 21 were jailed for over 190 years between them

Most disabled people were not born disabled. Around 80% acquire disability through illness, injury or accident. Disability can happen to your child, partner, parent, friend or you. Demonising disabled people is ultimately demonising all people.
PIP was designed with the best intentions, but the world has changed. That’s why I’ve announced a root and branch review of sickness benefits – ripping up the system to build something new and better in its place.

Here she goes again…@Helen_Whately yet again lying about PIP with the intention of misleading the public. I am sick of it. Can someone in the media PLEASE challenge her lies, once and for all? @SkyNews @BBCNews @Channel4News @itvnews

Disability hatred, discrimination and Helen Whately. And make no mistake, it is hatred. It is discrimination. It is targeting vulnerable people. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.

#bbcpm: According to #HelenWhately, "1 in 4 people now report as #disabled. But we can't afford to sign off 25% off the population. Bold action is needed. Not piecemeal tweaks." Reporting as disabled and being signed off are two entirely different things. #Whately is unfit for office. The only question is whether she is morally unfit, intellectually unfit, or both. davidaslindsay.blogspot.com/…

If we can’t afford state pension can we afford MPs pensions ? Can we afford severance pay for MPs not re-elected ? Can we afford the PMs pension & the life time public duty costs they have. Can we afford MPs expenses ( over & above basic levels ) All in this together?

I have to say, I'm enjoying reading all the replies to Helen Whately whenever she tweets about disabled people and benefits, it seems that people are starting to see through her bullshit.

PIP is the help I need as a disabled person … to errr … work! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Take that away and you take away my ability to even get out the front door, let alone work. Seriously, we should all be challenging this absolute trash! Start by looking at what they’re claiming from taxpayers 👊
Over 4 million people are now claiming PIP. That’s doubled since the pandemic. Our current system gets the incentives wrong – handing out cash to stay home, whilst failing to give disabled people the help they need. Conservatives will change this and get Britain working again.

Today at PMQs, MPs will be wearing white roses to honour Jo's legacy. This moment of reflection comes with a responsibility: to remember the promises made 10 years ago. We call on all politicians to recommit to the Civility Pledge: jocoxfoundation.org/our-work…

So they're gonna cut it by 23 billion even though it's only risen by 11 billion? Almost like they're just making this shit up
In their election manifesto the Conservatives said they could cut welfare spending by £4bn. Today, less than two years later, they’re talking £23bn. Almost as if the number isn’t derived from the evidence but from whatever size headline is needed to keep the welfare panic going

I feel Jo’s presence every day; in lessons I learned as part of Jo Cox Women in Leadership; sisters I gained that helped me through thick & thin; teachings that stay with me all these yrs later. What a legacy. We will always have far more in common than that which divides us ❤️
Ten years ago today, our beloved friend and colleague, Jo Cox, was murdered. Today we are all thinking of Jo, of her family, friends, and all those who loved her. Every day, we strive towards creating the world that she believed in, and remember her words: “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us".

Helen Whately: we need to fix the broken benefit system because Labour aren't doing it People in her comments: what did you do in 14 years in office about this? Helen Whately: err we.... built the current system, but yes it's all Labour's fault.

Nigel Farage has just posted “The mainstream media constantly distorts what I say. You can no longer rely on them to report the truth” That is of course complete bollocks
Let’s call this bull**** out TOGETHER The 200,000 illegal migrants figure Farage is using is over several years and let’s remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - BREXIT And now in threatening to punish those parts of the country where people don’t vote his way the Reform party leader is betraying the basic principles of democracy - its shameless and grotesque bullying which shows nothing but contempt for voters
