Eyeopener: how different Middle Eastern Airlines treat clients - especially during challenging times. Cancellations/Refunds no questions/no deductions - just empathetic efficiency - both @emirates and @etihad. On the other hand, pathetic and shameful @GulfAir ! Still struggling for a refund and not knowing where to seek help! đŸ˜Ș

Indian Right Wing supporters are independent people with great accomplishments. All of them are self-made unlike Leftists & they don’t depend on anyone for anything.. Even PM Modi can’t escape their wrath if they feel something is not right. In fact PM Modi followed many X accounts from our RW lot who kept criticising him. When he is open to criticisms nobody is bigger than him I believe. Our supporters are our strength. They’ve always been since the good old Orkut days. Name calling & labelling them is the greatest disservice & 100% the party doesn’t endorse ANYONE doing it & YES, I’m AUTHORISED to say this. Name calling our own people in public in front of DMK, Congress & sundry hyenas is even more shameful & height of immaturity(even though some people don’t have the standing!). The media will pitch in & glorify you to stab our own back; don’t fall prey. Keep the foot in ground & stick to your roles, nobody has any slightest right to label anyone; that too not the learned crowd who are more accomplished in life than YOU.

LONG POST WARNING - “Influencers” don’t really work the way you think they do. The biggest myth of social media is the impact of influencers in CHANGING voting decisions. They don’t. They are however very effective in REINFORCING political choices. First. Understand all social media works differently. Instagram is not twitter, twitter is not youtube & youtube is not Instagram. They are similar but not the same. Check your own Instagram - you’ll see you follow what you aspire for but can’t really afford or do. They can get you to make calls and inquire about those holidays in Maldives & Costa Rica, but most can’t afford it. Nothing the influencer says or does will change the reality that you can’t afford it. So why do companies pay influencers? Simple - the more likes & comments the post gets the higher the probability that someone who can afford it will see it. The walkthrough is massive but catchment is minuscule. Now do youtube - people discover new things - like Instagram. But unlike Instagram (which is food, travel, lifestyle thirst traps) - Youtube is about information. Be it recipes, deep dives into history, etc etc etc. for many people youtube is WHYtube, because it answers the why. Yet even here the Instagram dictum plays out. You’ll watch someone say something - say a liquor scam explainer. It will either bufuddle you, irritate you, or excite you. Your follow will be dictated by one of these 3. Befuddlers don’t get followers (nuance doesn’t sell). Irritaters do get followers - antagonistic ones, who enjoy getting irritated. Exciters get the most followers because they are articulating something you felt, but couldn’t verbalise or crystallise. And this brings us to twitter. Imagine if Rana Ayyub stood for elections in her native mumbai. Do you think she’ll get the 1.6 million votes of her followers? Of course not - they’re geographically distributed. Like multi-award winner Irom Sharmila who barely managed 1000 votes. Twitter following is geographically distributed and contributes squat to actual elections. The same applies for Youtube. Similarly on twitter too you have befuddlers, irritaters and exciters - with similar following. Yet again many walk-ins/enquiries/walkthrough but minuscule catchment. The good thing about twitter is you can actually measure this. I have 230K followers, but my videos can sometimes get over 1 million views but more often 40-50K views or much less. Even less are the number of people who like and even less are people who RT. The RT guys are your voters - because RTing like voting is a commitment - it requires effort (QTing and replying require even more effort). Now transpose this to voting day. The effort of walking in the Sun or taking your car out, standing in queue, and the prior effort of ensuring you got your voting slip and your name was on the roll - all require VASTLY more effort than tapping out a few sentences on your phone on twitter. The more the effort/cost - the less the catchment & even this meagre catchment is hopelessly divided by physical geography. Statistically therefore influencers simply don’t influence elections at all. They are at best the marketing department whose salary gets measured by footfalls - unlike the sales department whose salary depends on actual sales. Influencers are just that - marketers - the party cadre are the real salesmen. And as we’ve seen - footfalls ≠ sales. So if influencers have convinced you they’re salesmen and you’re depending on them, best of luck, because this con-job is one of the dirty secrets of the marketing industry. Think of this in geopolitical terms - everyone knew on which side they would be if Russia invaded Ukraine or the Pandavas and Kauravas went to war right? Did any video or sermon change anyone’s view? Heck! Krishna reciting the Bhagawad Gita didn’t change the Kauravas mind did it? And you think some hourly rental little shit sitting in germany will?

“This transformation should begin at the top. Kindly start with the entrenched Executive Committee consisting of only brahmins and royalty you have been heading for 2 decades. Unlike serious hardwork and the long journey it takes for artists to excel, this transformation is achievable instantly with a simple resolution and a bunch of resignations” Excellent points made by @ranjanigayatri to the Music Academy President. Must be heeded!
The Music Academy Chennai Dear Mr Murali, We thank you for the courtesy of providing a response to our letter dated 20 March 2024. We’d like to clarify that our letter to you was only a notification of our withdrawal without any request for your decisions or actions. We did not post the letter on social media, but merely informed our fans on the same subject. Now we realise, this didn't help you manage the optics and we are sorry about it. Did we question your prerogative to award anyone? No Did we exercise our prerogative to withdraw? Yes Did we refuse to be implicit apologists for genocide mongers and filthy discourse? Yes With your verbose answer to questions we never raised, you are trying to build a convenient narrative and cast aspersions on us. Your statements to the press in this regard are immoral and dishonest. We were a bit surprised as to why your response reads like a release on behalf of the awardee, erasing the distinction between him and the Music Academy. But it became obvious when Mr. N. Ram, media hegemon, joined as an undeclared spokesperson, with his campaign branding us “bigoted, casteist coterie”. We immensely respect this hallowed institution and it will be the happiest day for us and for millions of people to see star performers emerge from underprivileged communities and dominate this stage. We want to see the day when the TTK auditorium is filled up with a diverse inclusive crowd from all communities and religious minorities. This transformation should begin at the top. Kindly start with the entrenched Executive Committee consisting of only brahmins and royalty you have been heading for 2 decades. Unlike serious hardwork and the long journey it takes for artists to excel, this transformation is achievable instantly with a simple resolution and a bunch of resignations. Please consider leading by example, lest the world call it mere lip service and start branding you as a “bigoted, casteist coterie”. Thanks & regards, Ranjani & Gayatri @musicacademyma #musicacademy

People are actually upset thinking just how much resources were wasted in giving a media platform to such an ill informed journalist. All that resources could’ve help setup a small waste management facility in Kerala
The number of people upset at this tweet is keeping me entertained today

Why don't you mind your business & let us do what we want ? If you are so keen on building a Secular, Inclusive, Republic, you have a country that we offered you in 1947. Try building that as a secular, inclusive one, if you even manage to save it from economic collapse.
In pursuit of their cultural revivalist agenda, RSS and BJP are striving to re-write history, changing nomenclatures, names of cities and streets as they present it a part of their de-colonisation to cover up for Hindu Rashtra— in conflict with the Republican, Inclusive and Secular India. Hindustan is yet another name both Muslims and Hindus identify with. However, Hindustani doesn’t mean Hindu alone, but all those who live in India and celebrate its diversity. And Iqbal’s poem is sung as a kind of anthem on national days: sarey jehan se Achha Hindustan Hamara. ŰłŰ§Ű±Û’ ŰŹÛŰ§Úș ŰłÛ’ Ű§Ú†ÚŸŰ§ ÚŸÙ†ŰŻÙˆŰłŰȘۧÚș ÚŸÙ…Ű§Ű±Ű§ “An Anglo-Indian Dictionary published in 1886 states that, while Hindustan means India, in the native parlance it had come to represent the region north of Narmada River excluding Bihar and Bengal. During the independence movement, the Indians referred to their land by all three names: 'India', 'Hindustan' and 'Bharat'.”

So @dhanyarajendran, don’t take people for fools. We know exactly what TNM did. We know exactly the narrative you were trying to peddle. It was not a mere “he said she said” report. You actively shielded the criminals and criminalized the victim. You are a disgusting vermin.

Close Down Temples if They Perpetuate Violence: Madras High Court “If temples are going to perpetuate violence, the existence of temples will have no meaning, and in all such cases, it would be better to close down those temples so that the violence can be averted. Till the man drops his ego and goes to the temple seeking for the blessings of the god, the whole purpose of having a temple is of no use." These are observations made by the Madras HC according to a report by Livelaw. The Madras HC seems to be making several such observations (Attaching a similar judgment). The court's observations came while hearing a dispute between two groups regarding the conduct of a temple festival. The petitioner had moved for police protection. Are you surprised? Do you find it absurd? Just to make a point, there is a major dispute between the Jacobite and Orthodox factions in Kerala over the ownership of several churches. This dispute started in 1912. I don't recall the Kerala HC saying that the churches should be shut down. Is it that these kinds of sermons from the judiciary are reserved only for the majority community? I further have a few thoughts and a few questions about these observations made by the court. 1) The common man approaches the judiciary when he is desperately looking for a solution to a dispute. Isn’t it better that the judiciary stick to its job of resolving the dispute instead of passing loose remarks such as this one? 2) Who gives the Milords the right to talk about the "existence of temples" and about "closing down the temples"? 3) Our judiciary has millions of cases pending across the country. The judiciary has sufficiently proven its inefficiency in resolving these disputes and providing justice if we are to apply the legal maxim, 'justice delayed is justice denied.' Going by the same logic as the statement of the Madras HC above, I have a simple question for the Milords: Isn’t it better that we close down our courts since you can’t handle your job well? Dear Milords, None of us here are looking for spiritual advice from the judiciary. We don't need the judiciary to tell us the 'purpose of temples' or why we go to temples. We all go to temples for various reasons, not just for the 'blessings of the god,' as you think. You may have wanted to make a point, but please learn to be sensitive. To put it a bit bluntly, please just stick to your job and get it done instead of making loose comments like this! #MadrasHighCourt #TamilNadu
