A compelling talk by @mark_ciesielski at #CERF2023 who characterized the molecular signatures of Oyster mortality in North Carolina’s estuarine waters. Potential for nipping die-off in the bud with his workflows!

My son said: “please shine a light over here so I don’t step on a copperhead” I did, and this was one step in front of us. I’m not trying to have another bite this summer! Yikes.

13 years ago this month, my son was diagnosed with brain cancer. I promised him that I would do everything I could to help kids with #ChildhoodCancer. It’s the only thing he asked us to do. Not to help him, but to help others. I would be grateful for a follow or a RT to spread awareness and honor his journey. 🙏🏻

435 COVID hospitalization in N Carolina last week, it's going up and up. Be careful out there! Get vaccinated, wear a mask, and get anti viral drugs the first day you test positive. They only work if taken EARLY! #COVID19 #CovidIsntOver #Covidisnotover #SARSCoV2 @ECUBrodySOM

As "new" to the Archaea community, it was so good to see how this commujity engages in passionate but respectful and kind discussions. Heads up to trainees exploring their place in academia: that's where tou want to land. Where people collaborate and cooperate.
