Traffic Alert: Berkeley County I-26 WB 187 MM all lanes blocked due to a multi-vehicle collision. Detour in place at the 189 mile marker. Take Volvo Car Drive to SC 27 and then back to I-26 WB.

RIGHT NOW: I-26 eastbound is closed to traffic at this hour as our crews are dealing with a fire involving a semi-trailer truck near the Peak exit at mile marker 97. @CountyLex Fire Service, Newberry Fire and @IrmoFire are also assisting.
No injuries have been reported.

🚨Traffic Alert🚨:Richland County: Troopers are currently working a collision on I-26 eastbound around the 89 mile marker. All lanes are blocked, due to this collision. A detour is set up at the 85 exit, you can turn right at the exit and then turn left onto US 76 towards Chapin.

Motorists should anticipate the closure of Exit 96 NB exit ramp to allow for the completion of the new exit ramp on Thursday, July 27, 2023. This ramp will be closed until August 28, 2023 when the new ramp opens.

This week SCDOT will initiate nightly traffic detours on I-26 EB & WB at Exit 91 (Chapin) for bridge demolition. Tonight, 7/19, EB traffic will be routed onto the exit ramp and back onto I-26 by using the Exit 91 on-ramp from 10pm-5am. Expect delays and drive safely

Tomorrow (May 17), SCDOT and Blythe Zachry Joint Venture anticipate the closure of Exit 96 Northbound Entrance ramp. This ramp will be closed until June 2023 at which time the new bridge alignment will reopen along with the Southbound 96 Exit ramp.
