Lmao. And thereโ€™s the plan. Right there. Laid bare in your face. Create the problem (stranger danger), sell the solution (more authoritative surveillance state), repeat forever. Everyone owes conspiracy theorists an apology who have been screaming about this for years.

I stand to benefit PERSONALLY from CAB 3. By all selfish calculations, I should support it. Some have whispered, "Take the opportunity while it is there." But leadership is not measured by what benefits us; it is measured by what benefits the people. When I asked myself, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE? I found every reason to OPPOSE it.

As the Minister responsible for Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, I have come across videos showing the demolition of houses, and it is truly heartbreaking to see families crying in the streets after working so hard to provide shelter for their loved ones. I am concerned that the full social and human impact of these actions may not have been adequately considered. Decisions of this nature have far-reaching consequences and can easily overshadow the tremendous work being done by our Government under the leadership of His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa. As leaders, we must always be mindful that our actions reflect on the broader vision and reputation of our leadership. This is a sensitive matter, and at this stage, I am not fully informed of all the facts surrounding these demolitions. I will therefore engage the relevant authorities to better understand the circumstances involved and the processes that were followed. I have also noted with concern the growing activities of land barons who illegally sell land and settle unsuspecting citizens on unapproved developments. These criminal elements are causing immense suffering to families and contributing to situations such as the one we are witnessing today. They must be identified, arrested, and brought to justice to protect innocent citizens from losing their hard-earned investments. Regardless of political affiliation, the suffering of our people should concern us all. While the law must be respected and upheld, it must also be applied proactively and humanely. If developments are unlawful, intervention should take place before families invest their life savings and establish homes, not after they have settled and built their lives. It is painful to witness such scenes. Our duty as leaders is to protect our citizens, uphold the law with fairness and compassion, and safeguard the good reputation of the leadership and Government we serve. Let us always put the welfare and dignity of our people at the centre of our decisions.

OPEN LETTER TO PAUL TUNGWARARA I watched your remarks regarding the 2030 agenda and your comments suggesting that elections should wait so that others can also โ€œeat.โ€ As an ordinary Zimbabwean, I found those words deeply disturbing. The purpose of government is not to create opportunities for politicians, advisers, business elites, or those connected to power to โ€œeat.โ€ The purpose of government is to serve the people. Millions of Zimbabweans are struggling to afford food, healthcare, education, and decent jobs. Young people are leaving the country in search of opportunities. Families are being separated by economic hardship. Yet instead of discussing how to improve the lives of citizens, we hear discussions about postponing elections and allowing more people to benefit from political power. Who exactly is supposed to be eating? The unemployed graduate? The struggling vendor? The nurse earning a salary that disappears before month-end? The pensioner whose savings have been wiped out? Or those who already enjoy access to influence, government contracts, and the corridors of power? Zimbabweโ€™s Constitution is not a menu from which politicians choose what suits them. Elections are a constitutional right. They are not an inconvenience to be postponed whenever those benefiting from the current system feel they need more time. If a government has performed well, it should have no fear of facing the people at the ballot box. If the people are satisfied, they will vote accordingly. That is democracy. Many Zimbabweans are tired of hearing powerful people speak as if the country belongs to a select few. Zimbabwe belongs to all of us. Public office is a position of trust, not a feeding trough. The message citizens want to hear is not about who gets to eat. The message they want to hear is how the nation will create jobs, strengthen institutions, fight corruption, improve hospitals, and give young people a future. Respect the Constitution. Respect the peopleโ€™s right to choose. And remember that political power exists to serve citizens, not to feed those who are close to it. Respectfully, Thomas Chizhanje

Open Letter to Hon. Daniel Garwe Hon. Garwe, Zimbabweans are watching their homes being demolished, and many are asking one question: where was the government when these houses were being built? These homes were not built in a day. People spent years working, saving, borrowing money, and sacrificing to build them. Entire communities grew over time. Thousands of people invested everything they had because they believed they were securing a future for their families. Today, bulldozers are arriving. But where are the people who sold the stands? Where are the officials who allowed these settlements to grow? Where are the people who collected money from desperate home seekers? Why is it that when things go wrong, the first people to suffer are always ordinary citizens? Musatitora semapenzi. People are struggling to understand how settlements can exist for years without action, only for demolitions to begin after families have already invested their life savings. Nobody is above the law. If the houses were built illegally, then everyone involved should be held accountable. Accountability should not stop with homeowners. It should reach every person who played a role in creating this situation. What Zimbabweans want is fairness. The law must not only be applied to the powerless. It must also be applied to those with influence, authority, and connections. Right now, many families are losing everything they worked for. Children are being displaced. Parents are watching years of sacrifice disappear in a matter of hours. That pain is real. That anger is real. And the questions being asked are valid. Zimbabweans deserve answers. They deserve transparency. They deserve leadership that accepts responsibility instead of simply shifting the burden onto ordinary people. History will remember these demolitions. It will also remember whether those responsible for creating this crisis were ever held accountable. The people are watching. Thomas Chizhanje
