Scotland and Ireland consume around 11 bcm (billion cubic metres) of gas per year while 17.4 bcm from the North Sea pipelines came into Northern Scotland alone in 2024.
Over 6 bcm had to go south after Moffat.
Do the maths!
Irish pipeline gas is North Sea gas, not fracked gas!

UK's System Operator @neso_energy confirmed "NTS compression does not currently support the transport of gas to the high-demand parts of Scotland from the southern zones or from the zone’s more southerly terminals at Teesside & Barrow" meaning no UK fracked gas comes to Ireland!
