The Walt Whitman Archive is delighted to share some good news! 🎉 @NEHgov has awarded the Archive a $250,000 grant for "Walt Whitman’s Journalism: Finding the Poet in the Brooklyn Daily Times.”
This multi-institutional effort will use computational linguistics to establish if unattributed editorials in the Brooklyn Daily Times were written by Whitman. It should shed light on key years for Whitman (and the nation) just prior to the Civil War.
