What's not to love about a Hummingbird Hawkmoth? Interesting that a shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second doesn't freeze the wings. When resting, they can easily be overlooked.
Yesterday evening we noticed about 20 small white (?plume) moths flying over a friendβs garden pond. They seemed to be possibly ovipositing on the surface weed. Anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks! @ukmoths
A couple of days ago flying ants were everywhere in my #Bridgwater#garden. Above the house, hundreds of #gulls were presumably feasting on the swarm higher up. ππ
Great wander around #Greylake today with @lnrwildphoto and @LizardMan looking for #Norfolkhawkers. There were a few around but probably more Brown hawkers seen. Here is today's record shot and a couple of nicer pics from #Radipole a few years ago.
A terrible pic of a pair of Three-toed woodpeckers, but a nice record of a day with White-backed, Lesser, Middle, Great, Black and Grey-headed to boot!
