Please pardon the smoke. The Nature Conservancy is conducting a 125 acre habitat resource prescribed fire near HWY 71 and Southwest Parkway. Smoke may be observed around the City’s of Bee Cave and Lakeway.
The Nature Conservancy will be conducting a prescribed burn on 125 acres of the Barton Creek Habitat Preserve near Bee Cave on Wednesday, February 7th. Smoke may be visible in the Bee Cave area throughout the day as we work to return good fire to the landscape.
Austin Parks and Recreation Dept is conducting a prescribed burn at the Louis Rene Barrera Indiangrass Wildlife Sanctuary on Wednesday, January 31. Smoke may be visible from noon until sunset near the intersection of SH 130 and HWY 290 around Decker Ln. and Harris Branch.
Burning is compleat at Decker Lake there will be residual smoke in the area through the night. We were able to treat over 200 acres for the cities Blackland Prairie restoration project.

Prescribed Fire Cancelled: A test fire was conducted to ensure conditions on the ground aligned w/ forecasted conditions. Though today's weather looked promising, the test burn did not meet objectives. Crews are mopping up & will begin preparations for the next one #atxgoodfire
Patton Ranch Fire forward progress has been stopped. Fire is 90% contained. Crews continue to mop up at patrol, please use caution in the 290/ William Cannon area.
Leaders said the declaration makes it easier for the city and county to do certain things to help with emergency response, and it helps the response happen more quickly.

Austin Fire Department responded to Caldwell County to assist with the 250 acre Boggy Creek Fire. Short clip of AFD Brush Truck 50 working the left flank of the fire. AFD is proud to be able to support our neighbors in their time of need.
Hog Eye Rd fire acreage has been reduced to 68 acres due more accurate mapping. Crews continue to mop up and patrol, please use caution if your in the area.
