Competition in long-running Sci-Fi is struggling right now - mainly because they *all* tried to reach new fans the wrong way, rather than building on existing fans. It is the *perfect* time for Martin Gero to finish making his show @AmazonMGMStudio.

New fans care about a good story. I haven't read Martin Gero's pitch for new Stargate he was working on, but it must've been pretty good to win out against plenty of competition that existed throughout the development process that @AmazonMGMStudio participated in.

I *love* Sci-Fi. I rewatch Continuum (2012), The Ark (2023), Back to the Future (1985), Dark Matter (2006), Travelers (2016).
But I rewatch Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis the most.
Because that team knew what they were doing. And they have so many more stories to tell.

Of those 185, my favourite is Stargate Atlantis.

Recently I introduced 3 friends to Stargate by watching all of SG-1 & Atlantis 2 nights a week for 11 months. We're now on Universe.
They knew nothing prior.

Blair Fetter's decision to end @martingero's Stargate series absolutely infuriates me.
The *only* way for a new Stargate to reach a wide audience *is* for it to appeal to the fans. Word of mouth and their excitement will do the rest.
