Some might accuse us of being a single-issue group. Guilty as charged! We're all about women and our sex-based rights. However, we're happy to bend the rules for one night only. 😉 Tonight, it's all about the boys. Come on Scotland! 💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 #Scotland #WorldCup

Remember when people would tell you that stories about children identifying as the opposite sex, schools encouraging it, teachers affirming it, or even kids identifying as things other than human were just "right-wing myths" or internet rumours? Many of us were seeing these stories years ago. We saw the videos, read the accounts from parents, followed the whistleblowers and watched the numbers grow. Yet when you tried to tell family and friends about the latest development, you sounded crazy because the mainstream media either ignored it completely or covered it in a way that downplayed what was actually happening. For a long time, we assumed these stories would eventually make the news because they were so shocking. Often they didn't. Or if they did, it was months or years later, after people had already been dismissed as conspiracy theorists for talking about them. Those were strange days. Children went from being isolated during the pandemic to returning to schools where, in some cases, they were being encouraged to question the reality of their own sex and expected to affirm beliefs they could plainly see conflicted with reality. It's reasonable to ask what effect this has had on young minds. Eventually, the media had no choice but to start reporting on some of it. The stories became too big to ignore. Women's sports became impossible to avoid. Most people pay attention to the Olympics, after all. Seeing a male athlete win in a women's category is the sort of thing that cuts through to people who haven't spent years following the issue. So does watching an ordinary working mother, finishing long shifts as a nurse, suddenly become a household name after being dragged into a legal battle for stating what most people believe to be common sense. The reality is that nobody sees as much of this as those who've gone down the (unfortunate) rabbit hole. The average woman agrees with basic boundaries - she doesn't want men in women's spaces and she knows sex is real - but she also has a job, a family and a life. She isn't spending hours reading reports, court cases, policy changes, school guidance and the countless stories that never make the headlines. That's why so many people are still stuck in the “middle”. Not because they support everything that's happened, but because they haven't seen even a fraction of what many of us have seen. From the outside, it can all appear fairly harmless: bright colours, rainbow flags, messages about inclusion, kindness and being yourself. If that's all you're exposed to, it's understandable why you'd struggle to see why anyone is concerned. It's only when you start looking beyond the branding and the slogans that you begin to understand why so many women have become alarmed. The mainstream media has started acknowledging more of it, but there is still a huge gap between what the public knows and what has actually happened over the last decade. Until that gap closes, many people will continue to see it primarily as a colourful movement about acceptance, compassion and self-expression. Most of us would agree that people should be free to be themselves and live their lives as they choose. The problem is that many remain unaware of the wider ideas and policies that have emerged alongside it, and the real-world consequences those have had in schools, healthcare, sport and women's rights. The minute those in the so-called middle start seeing the fuller picture, things may finally begin to change. Ordinary women like us won't have to keep shouting over the noise or doing the heavy lifting anymore. What many of us have spent years trying to highlight will become impossible for the wider public not to see. The reality behind the slogans, colours and carefully crafted messaging will be staring people in the face.

This is such disingenuous garbage. LGB & T people already have equal rights. What you’re demanding is some form of supremacy of rights over ordinary people, & specifically women & girls. Your actions actively damage the rights you claim to be concerned about. @DannyBeales
LGBT people deserve to be able to live freely and safely. I don't believe the EHRC's guidance is helping to make that possible. My statement on why I've signed EDM 240 to stand up for trans people in my constituency and across the UK.

Wow, this chap informs us that 5 men will be stripping naked in the men’s changing rooms at council pools to protest against @EHRC guidance. Fine under normal circumstances, but he specifically states that it will be during the school summer holidays. What could possibly be the reason for choosing a time when there will be more little boys present? We assume this protest is intended to draw support for their cause, but it appears to be one massive red-flag own goal!

We attended the Arbroath & Broughty Ferry by-election hustings last night, hosted and chaired brilliantly by @WWWheesht @LibDems and @theSNP did not attend. The Conservative and Reform candidates participated, and Labour sent a representative as their candidate was unable to attend. A wide range of issues that affect women were discussed. We thought we’d highlight some standout responses on the following threads: 🧵 1/4

3/4 Georgia Cruickshanks, who represented Labour candidate Heather Doran, stated that Labour’s position is clear: it upholds equalities and the law for both women and trans people. She pledged to secure more funding for Women’s Aid to tackle domestic abuse and accused the SNP of previously rejecting these funds. Georgia insisted there should be uniform sentencing for sexual crimes against women, stating that an assailant’s age or background should not result in lighter sentences. Labour supports using reserved Westminster equality laws to ensure Holyrood complies. When an audience member noted that 133 MPs had signed an Early Day Motion opposing the EHRC and Supreme Court position, Georgia agreed that this was disappointing and unacceptable. She stated that she does not agree with surrogacy. She offered full support for women going through equal pay disputes and claims. However, she was unable to provide a definitive policy answer on WASPI women due to her status as a stand-in representative.

4/4 Reform candidate Bill Reid argued that the Scottish Government has systematically eroded women from public life and decision-making. He called for a return to core educational standards and the teaching of “respect for women” to tackle domestic abuse and violence against women and girls. Police need to play their part. He also called for tighter judicial guidance and a full review of sentencing for sexual assault against women, citing massive inconsistencies between judges. Bill stated that the issue of surrogacy is ultimately a matter for women, but admitted he lacks deeper knowledge on the topic. He proposed shifting financial power from Holyrood directly to local councils to help ensure men and women receive equal pay. He expressed full support for affected WASPI women.

Spot on @ForWomenScot 🔥 It is utterly scandalous that taxpayer-funded lobby groups like Equality Network are using public money to actively campaign against women’s sex-based rights and attempt to undermine the Supreme Court judgment. These unaccountable organisations — shielded from FOI and democratic scrutiny — are little more than state-funded political activists pushing the government’s own agenda. This is a disgraceful abuse of public funds. An independent inquiry into this cronyism is not just overdue — it’s essential. @ScotGovFM
We have written to @ScotGovFM asking that any inquiry into the role of money in politics includes lobby groups funded by the Gov which campaign to promote the policies of the governing party.

Another by-election hustings arranged by women, where @theSNP and @LibDems failed to participate. This is a clear indication to voters that they refuse to engage in debate on women’s issues. It’s 2026, not 1906 — women deserve better than this!
We were delighted to welcome representatives from Labour, Conservatives and Reform at our election hustings last night. This was the only hustings to take place in the constituency. We think hustings are a vital part of the democratic process. Disappointing that @theSNP and @LibDems candidates declined the opportunity to answer questions on women's issues.

Accurate sex-based language in women’s health is a safeguarding matter. Listen to the story from @justsay_mother to find out why. Removing it depersonalises and dehumanises women, creating real barriers for those who are traumatised, have learning disabilities, limited literacy, or English as an additional language. These changes were implemented with no evidence that they improve outcomes. Research into the impact of de-sexing language is urgently needed to protect women’s rights. We're asking followers to sign and share the petition by @justsay_mother - link in next post.
Uni’s are marking students down for using the words “women and mothers”. In this clip from the new story, the woman behind @justsay_mother tells how changes to language in women’s health were made with no research, pushing gender neutral terms. This is why research is needed.

An excellent, no-nonsense speech from this Welsh politician on the question: ‘What is a woman?’ It’s crazy that our parliaments even have to discuss such a basic issue. But common sense will prevail! We send solidarity from the Women o’Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You claim that Richard Gordon Thomson will always stand up for Scotland, but will he stand up for women in Scotland? He has proudly signed the Out for Independence ‘LGBTQIA ’ pledge opposing the EHRC’s recent code of practice guidance and backing reform of the Equality Act. This is a direct attack on women’s sex-based rights. It seeks to erase protections for single-sex spaces, facilities and services that keep women and girls safe and respect their rights to privacy and dignity. There is no mention of defending women — only prioritising ideology over women’s rights. Richard also declined our recent invitation to attend the only in-person hustings for the Aberdeen South by-election. Members of the public would have had the opportunity to question him on a wide range of issues that affect women. It seems that while you claim Richard will always stand up for Scotland, he does not stand up for 51% of the constituents of Aberdeen South — the women and girls. @thomsonrichardg @theSNP
🫵 If 𝘆𝗼𝘂 live in the Aberdeen South constituency #VoteSNP next week to elect an MP who will always stand up for Scotland: @thomsonrichardg! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

An NHS investigation has found that “potential harm has been caused to the 78 children and young people” who received gender-related medication at WellBN, an NHS GP practice in Brighton & Hove. It concludes that the care “fell far short of what could be considered safe.” /1
