One thing I’ve learned when deciding whether to build in an ecosystem is to look at what I call its mission density.
Part of it is talent. Part of it is how many people are actually building.
But the biggest signal is whether people are working on it as a job, or whether they’d probably be working on the exact same thing even if they got paid half as much.
There aren’t many ecosystems where a large percentage of the people involved seem genuinely obsessed with the problem they’re trying to solve.
Zcash is one of the strongest examples of that I’ve encountered.
