You’ve got Europeans road-tripping across America and having their minds blown by Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro Shops. You’ve got a small Kansas town falling in love with an Algerian club that chose Kansas City as their homebase. You’ve got South Korea training in Utah to prepare for the altitude in Guadalajara.
For one month, the whole world forgets we’re supposed to hate each other over differences that barely matter. It’s the closest thing we have to world peace.

Official attendance figures reflect the number of tickets scanned and spectators present within the stadium footprint, rather than visual assessments of seating occupancy at any given moment during the match. FIFA works closely with stadium authorities and ticketing teams to ensure all published figures are based on verified operational data.
Please note that, during last night’s match in Guadalajara, several ticketed fans could be seen standing in concourses rather than staying in their assigned seats throughout the match.

L'arbitre de Mexique 🇲🇽 - Afrique du Sud 🇿🇦 a par exemple dû faire attendre les joueurs lors de la seconde pause fraîcheur après discussion avec un coordinateur car la Fox, le diffuseur américain, était toujours en coupure publicitaire...
Malgré les délais imposés à l'arbitre et la reprise tardive, la Fox diffusait toujours des annonces publicitaires lorsque le jeu avait recommencé sans que les téléspectateurs ne puissent le voir

🚨Unless something changes drastically in the next 48-72 hours, Gianni Infantino and @FIFAcom executives have no interest in lowering primary ticket prices.
They are using sponsor companies to give away tickets. My best advice is continue to monitor secondary ticketing sites.
And remember, FIFA tickets are not eligible to be transferred 1 hour prior to start of a match so if you buying on a secondary platform make sure it’s 3:4 hours before match time at the minimum.

Gianni Infantino in 2017, talking about the bidding process for 2026 with particular reference to the travel bans the US had in place then:
“Teams who qualify for a World Cup need to have access to the country, otherwise there is no World Cup. That is obvious.
“We are now in the process of defining the bid requirements. In the world there are many countries who have bans, travel bans, visa requirements and so on and so forth. It’s obvious when it comes to FIFA competitions, any team, including the supporters and officials of that team, who qualify for a World Cup need to have access to the country, otherwise there is no World Cup.
“The requirements will be clear. And then each country can make up their decision, whether they want to bid or not based on the requirements.”

Gianni Infantino knocked down all the reporting over visa concerns for this World Cup in August 2025: “I think it’s important to clarify this. There is a lot of misconception out there. Everyone will be welcome in Canada, Mexico and the United States for the FIFA World Cup next year.

No, again we are just meant to look the other way and allow this thing we love so much, that we want to enjoy, that we can map our whole lives around, to be used and abused.
Again we are told about unity and inclusion when division, disparity and denial is the reality.
It is a great, great celebration of getting more money whatever it takes, no matter who has to pay the price. The greatest showpiece of allowing - unopposed! - the man who is meant to protect and grow the people’s game into playing celebrity, massaging his own ego and that of heads of state.
The biggest, most expensive, least accessible World Cup ever. The thing we love and all the beautiful pieces of it we’ve lost.
