I'm glad they tried to land Ohtani and Soto, but now I hope the front office is more ready to pivot to other options than they were last year. There's still potential to put together a competitive team for next year and beyond.

The staggering sums commanded by Juan Soto in free agency would have been a barrier-to-entry for the Blue Jays in years past. Now that it's not, the onus is on the front office to not just bid for elite talents, but find ways to land them, too.

Like everyone else, we're in a holding pattern for the strike. Should it end in the next couple weeks we'll get copies of the paper to CP for delivery. If not, we'll reassess.
