In his conversation with J.P. Morgan, Elon Musk said: Orbital computing hubs resolve the NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) dilemma plaguing terrestrial power plant construction, as local communities universally oppose ground-based power facilities near residential zones. Outer space holds nearly limitless solar energy; the Sun contributes 99.8% of total energy across the Solar System, while humanity’s aggregate present-day energy consumption is negligible by comparison. Orbital datacenters feature far simpler architecture than communications satellites, consisting solely of solar panels, thermal radiators and laser data links that transmit processed information back to Earth via Starlink’s cloud-and-building-penetrating connectivity. This innovation will fuel exponential growth in global AI compute capacity. #spacex #IPO

During a discussion with J.P. Morgan, Elon Musk responded as follows: Moon: Fast-tracked construction of self-sustaining extraterrestrial cities becomes viable. Capitalizing on the Moon’s low gravity and airless surface, electromagnetic accelerators (coil railguns) can blast AI datacenter hardware into deep space. Lunar solar energy reserves are capable of easily scaling to 1,000 terawatts (TW) to power massive AI computing clusters. Mars: Framed as a “fixer-upper planet”, the long-term goal is full terraforming: reshaping Mars to generate stable liquid-water oceans and a breathable atmosphere, laying foundational conditions for humanity’s multiplanetary civilization.

During his dialogue with J.P. Morgan, Elon Musk gave the following reply: Full reusability stands as Starship’s landmark breakthrough: the world’s first orbital-grade rocket built for complete repeated flight cycles. Reusability has long been an industry default for mainstream transport including aircraft, automobiles and ocean vessels; traditional disposable rocket design has historically kept space launch costs exorbitantly high. With full reusability realized, the bulk of orbital insertion cost shrinks to propellant expenses alone—liquid oxygen paired with liquid methane, cheaper than conventional jet fuel—pushing space cargo shipping costs below transoceanic air freight rates. Musk stressed: “This will overhaul the entire space economy.”

In his conversation with J.P. Morgan, Musk said: Exclusive to Starship launches, Version 3 satellites deliver a 10–20x performance boost, ramp total system bandwidth up to 100 times the existing constellation and cut signal latency in half thanks to lower orbital deployment altitudes. Moving forward, the network will cater to enormous communication loads driven by AI and robotic systems: individual human bandwidth needs hover at only hundreds of bits per second (bps), whereas AI and autonomous machinery demand throughput measured in trillions of bps. Starlink is poised to replace part of the global undersea fiber optic cable network and evolve into the world’s fastest and most robust cross-border communication infrastructure. #starlink #spacex

During a discussion with J.P. Morgan, Elon Musk responded as follows: SpaceX has sustained positive cash flow and operated entirely self-sufficiently starting from 2014–2015. Previously, the firm delivered liquidity to its employees and early investors through private equity rounds structured as share buybacks instead of fresh capital raising. The company has now entered a capital-intensive explosive growth phase requiring massive funding to execute flagship initiatives including the deployment of over 100,000 Starlink V3 satellites and construction of orbital AI datacenters. An IPO will unlock greater liquidity for staff and early stakeholders while financing the firm’s next round of large-scale business expansion. #SPACEX #IPO
