I truly love how much seething, acidic, contempt it has for the genre. A lot of other anti-superhero stuff is about power gone too far or wielded irresponsibly, Marshal Law just says "these guys are the American spirit made literal. Kill em all."

I *think* it was Godard who voiced the criticism that shooting Schindler's List as an industrial Hollywood film required Spielberg to build and operate a replica Auschwitz, which felt too obscene to justify any work of entertainment, but I can't actually find the quote.
