Meet DiffusionGemma! An experimental open model that explores a fast approach to text generation, released under an Apache 2.0 license. Moving beyond sequential, token-by-token processes to generate entire blocks of text simultaneously. Here’s what’s new with DiffusionGemma: 👇

Claim: Person claims new model is good at code and engineering That Person: no longer reads the code or does engineering, so unable to make this claim. Interpretation: Jarred is just Anthropic’s OpenClaw guy now. promoting tokenmaxxing for IPO.

The amount of people that don’t realize “ralph loop” is a pun is astonishing.

I was talking to a guy the other day and mentioned that 9 years ago I built an advanced realtime data migration system at a unicorn that had auto-migration promotion and ephemeral hot and cold patching periods across a complex product needing to manage stale data, applied to tens of millions of customer sites with live data patching running at scale for tens of billions of views. Still actively used by the org to ship migrations at scale. He cut me off halfway and angrily for some reason insisted that he had implemented the same thing at every startup he worked at and it was no big deal, then unironically went on for 5 minutes about how the other day he generated a tech spec within 5 hours for an api. I find it hard to believe looking at his linked in that the companies he worked at would need a system like that at all. You really run into all sorts of people out there. I guess expectations are at an all time high.

Incredible because developers are already doing this - Building fake features - Running useless CI checks - Creating markdown plans files - Tracking lines of code produced
‘Dopamine sites’ have surged in popularity in South Korea At no cost at all, users can relieve stress by: • Browsing fake menus • Filling shopping carts • Taking virtual smoke breaks • Tracking ‘couriers’

With 4.7 worse than 4.6, and 4.8 worse than 4.7, and how they’re vibe coding claude code which is so full of bugs I had to stop using it a month ago, and now rust bun publicly refusing to do human code review. Can their members of technical staff dig themselves out of the slop spiral.

Notion just removed Anthropic models. Opus 4.7 and 4.8 degraded, causing higher failure rates in Notion AI. The harshest model review is not a benchmark. It is your partner removing you from the model picker. This matches my experience too: Opus 4.8 has felt weirdly worse than Opus 4.6 lately.

Do they even know how their systems work at this point without asking an LLM and hoping it didn’t hallucinate the answer? Would their culture and marketing even let them try?

The worst case of AI Psychosis I've seen was an engineering manager I interviewed as part of my Dash product research at one of the handful of companies I engaged over the last few months who told me he was "harness pilled" which he explained as believing that building just the right harness would unlock AGI with current models. When I interviewed his team they said he had been completely unhinged as a manager recently, starting fights in standups with his Product counterpart, letting other people on the team have drawn out heated exchanges without intervening, the few things he would say in meetings were snide comments under his breath about engineers on his team and mentions of his personal side project, etc. It got so bad one of the ICs on the team had to take over running their standups and entire team process.

Replying to @YoavCodes
It is the most impressive desktop cross platform framework I have seen in over a decade. I like it more than Tauri 2.0, and it finally challenges Electron. I hope it does well, thanks for building it.

Create an train a digit classifier in typescript with Electrobun's bundleWGPU option
Games are nice, but Electrobun's new bun -> wgpu unlocks raw gpu ML compute as well. - lines of code: html: 72, css: 195, browser ts: 318, bun ts: 450 - the ui is using a system webview - the training and inference is done on gpu direct from bun typescript. - dmg is only 20.9MB

Was initially blown away by codex 5.5 xhigh after 5.4 then spending a few weeks hand writing product research docs. 3 days in I am working on complex things again and it's absolutely struggling to cope. This would have taken me 2 hours to implement. We're 4 hours in and counting

I can't imagine the kind of slop people who don't read the code anymore are shipping without realizing it.
