I think addiction is complicated. I take stimulants regularly which are prescribed (and as prescribed) to me. If I stop taking them eventually I go through withdrawals (ask me how I know). Seems like addiction to me!

I presume it's because meth abusers take tens of times larger doses than the therapeutic doses for ADHD. Same reason therapeutic users don't get addicted or crazy.
