I’m in my fifties and was a Cubs fan at the time. As painful as the 1984 NLCS turned out, there is an easy case to make that this is the greatest year in my lifetime for combined sports and pop culture.

I get that the Justin Herbert standard of quarterback success/value applies only to Justin Herbert, but this seems to be going to a lot of trouble for a guy who was 0-8 in November as a starter the last two seasons.
A message to the Texas Tech community from our leadership.

ICYMI 🔊 #Procurement's biggest challenge often isn't strategy — it's execution. Clear goals mean little without ownership, accountability and a structured path to action. For #supplychains, results come from execution systems, not PowerPoint slides. hubs.li/Q04k85k60

ICYMI ⚡ AI's biggest impact on #supplychains may be what it gives back: time. As automation handles routine tasks and #AI agents support complex workflows, #procurement teams can focus more on strategic decision-making, supplier relationships and risk. hubs.li/Q04k88QM0

That someone could suffer “probable, imminent, and irreparable injury” by breaking a rule is, yes, a reason the rule exists. Anyway, this was the predictable and inevitable result, and we all should have been saved the trouble of going through the motions to get here.
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

Good punters are athletes, and yes, a “regular person” can’t do this. But this would be a typical 44-yard punt in a game, and thousands of more impressive “bombs” are launched on practice fields, from high school to the NFL, every day.
Insane: Florida State Punter Daniel Hughes has gone viral for having one of the strongest legs you will ever see. The regular person doesn't realize how impressive this is. 🤯🤯🤯

.@CBSSports producers told fellow announcers Ken Squier and Neil Bonnett to be silent and let Ned Jarrett “root” his son to the flag. It also turned out to be great analysis of what a pit crew chief is likely thinking on the final lap in a close race. RIP. #NASCAR

ICYMI 💡 #AI is now making #procurement decisions, not just recommending them. As autonomous systems place orders, switch suppliers and trigger payments, the real challenge for companies and #supplychains becomes governance, accountability and authority. hubs.li/Q04k7nbw0

Painted fire hydrants ... everywhere.
Growing up in the early 80s, you could still feel the tremors of how big a deal the bicentennial was. You’d still see t-shirts, hats etc. There was even a Bicentennial Park in my hometown. 250 discourse seems way more quiet. But tbf, we don’t have a word for 250 of something.
